We get venison bacon processed at McDonalds Meats in Clear Lake. They slice it then which helps a lot. I put it on a wire rack over a sheet tray in the oven. Flip once. Crips up nice

So the 25” toons don’t make enough of a difference? Figured that but thought I’d ask especially as the max weight was the same
Can’t speak to Leech but if Brainerd area lakes are any indication, they are low. This rain will hopefully help
Car insurance and homeowners went up, a lot. I price check against some other providers and found the same coverage for quite a bit cheaper
Ok has anyone tried the Green lantern on state hwy 18 between garrision and brainerd. There beef is locally sourced from a local beef farmer. And have home made buns. Great burgers fast and friendly service…
Have not been but heard good things. Always packed when I drive past
Second Dusty Eagle in Dalbo for their burgers.
Pinebrook just to the south on 47. Not sure if it 100% meets the dive criteria but has some great food
The Pickle Factory in Nisswa is my favorite for pull tabs
Parrot’s Cay in Grand Forks still has the best wings I’ve ever had.
I have heard from multiple tournament guys and guides that fish can feel the high intensity sonar of FFS and will avoid it.
Hell I remember about 15 years ago on Rainy, our guide would through out a triangle of marker bouys and then shut his 2D lowrance off because it “negatively effected walleyes”.
They could be making money by charging the white man to fish lower red but they don’t. Why would you expect something different from the upper portion?
I have that Plano guide bag and really like it. Pricey though
Would the Clam backpack work?
Oklahoma onion smash burgers. So good and does not take a ton of experience to do
I love this subject everyone has their way of doing it and they’ve never had an issue for XX years. Except for whoever starts the post and they’ve tried everyone else’s way and had issues every year
Exactly! I’ve even asked 3 different Cat dealers who all gave me different advice..
Looks like I’ll add some seafoam and call it a day. I do try and start the sled every other month throughout the offseason too
Seems like the unpopular opinion here but I’ve own both the eco boost and the 5.7 hemi. The Ram was 10x better at towing my wheelhouse than the ford. It even handled an 18’ equipment trailer with a 35hp tractor with attachments just fine
Half ton with 10 ply tires, trailer brakes, and air bags for towing will suit you just fine. The extras I mentioned seem like over the top to some but I can confirm from my own experience, they make a big difference.
Same happened to me when I got a new phone couple weeks ago. Ended up downloading the One Boat Network app and for half the price of Navionics with higher quality mapping, it’s a no brainer
We ended up putting a pause on the tritoon purchase so I dont have direct experience. We’ve still been looking and if we do go new, Sylvan L3 is still at the top of the list. I’ve heard only good reviews from asking around
Just got off the lake in the Brainerd area. Had over 12” last Sunday. Today there was 4.5” of crap ice with a spot that had open water on the lake. Could likely be the last time out for me.
Crappie chronicles considers “the metro” as 60 miles from Minneapolis/St Paul. I think that’s a pretty generous range
I have the trophy angler auger head cover for my strikemaster 40V and fits perfect. Does its job for cheap
I’ve tried them on some central MN lakes including Mille Lacs with no success
I use these for the skis and then a wood moving cart from Harbor Freight under the track. Been the best, cheapest setup I’ve found in the last couple years. With the skis on these dollies, I can drive up and down the driveway no problem

Without FFS that fish would not have been caught, there would be less dead fish from barotrauma without FFS.There would also be less dead fish from barotrauma without cozy wheelhouses, tungsten jigs, flashers, 1ft contour map chips, and the internet, where do you want to draw the line?
This here is what no one talks about. Everyone points a finger at forward facing sonar but no one complains about gps contour mapping or any other the other inventions that having made fishing more comfortable, accessible, and easier. I posted in this thread earlier that I would stand behind gps contour mapping leading to more fish being caught over Livescope. Hell I would even say side imaging over Livescope.
I don’t know where we could draw the line in the sand. What we can do though is constantly monitor the health of our lakes, tighten up slots and limits accordingly, further study and investigate deep water fishing, and most importantly educate!
Their new models look much nicer but pricing went up with everything else. Check out Alex Trimm on YouTube. He has the hybrid skis model this year
I have a Hyper Hitch and really like it. M&G trailer sold me on the no freeze feature

Gull can be a very tricky lake. It is like most lakes around the BLA where <strong class=”ido-tag-strong”>walleyes are predominantly a flash bite at prime time.Spent my whole life ice fishing the BLA. Flash bite at prime time nailed the walleye bite. Only thing I’ll add is the window can be so small and if you’re not in the right spot at the right time, you won’t have time to fish a second spot.
Correct. One of the things I get most frustrated with fishing this area. Pick your spot for the night, if it doesn’t work, try a new spot tomorrow.
I think both Uncut and Linders studies were steps in the right direction. I’d like to see a lot more studies done on this. With all the technology we have, I still can’t believe we don’t have live trackable fish tags that give us location and current depth. Would like to see Uncut’s experiment done with those tags to see if there was delayed mortality. Now to be far, I just avoid fishing deeper than 30’ for this reason.
For the Livescope comments, with great power comes great responsibility. I’ve seen many anglers go out and buy Livescope and still not catch fish because they are just not that good of anglers. Does it help, sure it does. However, I would 100% argue that the biggest technological advancement to catch more fish is detailed contour mapping. I don’t see anyone trying to outlaw maps. Let’s just put stricter bag limits and slots on our fisheries and enjoy the practice of ethical catch and release fishing.
Gull may end up with the best ice in the area if the snow stays away and temps get cold. Other lakes took a beating with the rain
Lindy- where did you hear the Jaycees tournament was canceled? It was moved to a later date a while back but haven’t seen or heard it being canceled
