- Ice fishing is the technique of fishing through holes on bodies of water covered with ice. A minimum clear ice thickness of 4 inches is required for safe fishing and other activities on foot. White ice or “snow ice” is about half as strong as new clear ice.
- Ice fishing is also known as “hard water fishing”.
