    @suzuki
Yes, 10 plus miles but you might have to walk. A good sand wagon that works in sand will help.
We got there around 8pm and had good parking with a short walk.

Buddy and I pulled 24 gallons of smelt last night. I got 2.5 hours of sleep and headed into work. I am feeling it!
I gift most of mine with 4 gallons held for the Camper smelt fry.

    Park point was on fire!

I will be at Park Point tonight and will say smelting is alive and well!!!!
Its all about timing the run.

I’m not that young to pull nets all night and get up and go to work the next day but apparently my mind thinks I am.

I’ve seen anywhere from 15-30 a gallon and up to 130 for a 5-gallon pail. There are still guys that will net all night long, load on trailers and head to the cities.

I only need enough for my annual camper smelt fry and to gift to a few friends and family.

    Good luck if you go!

Yes, right after Zorbaz is the palace. We currently have a waiting list for sites. They are in the process of turning a few campers and trying to make a few more spots. Our waiting list was around 80 a few years back. Not everyone is ready when an opening happens. Yes, buying an existing camper is the quickest way in. I was up two weekends ago and didn’t see any listed for sale. But.. not many had been up yet. Runs from first weekend in May to first weekend in October. Dock space is a waiting list also. You can rent weekend spots and just pull rig out when done.
Is it fun? I think we have some of the best events ever! 4th of July is our jam and its a full day of events. We also have the annual smelt fry, campers end of the year picnic, Halloween party, soup cook off and Northern no contest contest. Of course many other things to be active or non-active in. We are a family campsite and pride ourselves on this.

I have also seen the Fishermans Bay bar is now getting into the seasonal game. They are right up the road from us.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Abnormal bending of the strip. I’ve seen this when the Lites are used in hubs and slide into a weird area and are jammed into a bag. Also, when they slide over the corner on a flip over house.
Call customer service and a new set would be on the way. Kinda on your own now that its disassembled.

7 1/2″ in most areas with currents drawing havoc.

SxS went down in the narrows by Floe Island yesterday.

Ive fished off the beach and piers in Cancun many times. Heck, there were people feeding the fish off the pier and I was catching them! Need to be careful of snorkelers. They are not so happy with stuck lures.
No fishing license needed. Some resorts would take our fish for lunch and cook them! You need to ask before you keep them.
An instant fish caught was a treble with a banana…
I brought PK lure spoons and a few cranks. Wash your equipment after every use.

Keep exploring! You will find them.

Replace the white snap in cap with a black end cap and put a bolt through it.

    Steve,
Labor Day weekend is the last of the last for summer fun. You WILL see a high amount of traffic on the lake if it’s sunny and warm out. Our summer has been that way. The good thing is there is plenty of space! My best advice is to head to the main lake and find some rock humps. Drop a jig and minnow and start probing around. Last weekend I found a quick drop that went 40 yards and worked back and forth with plastics. (Freedom Baitz – Ring of fire) I boated 20 walleyes in 2 hours with my wife. The traffic for some reason picked up in the area and they moved on. I know I could have moved to the next hump and continued my quest, but my better half was done.

Two weekends ago we had a private campsite Northern Tourny. Most were trolling weed lines in shallow bays with cranks. We caught tons of Walleyes.

Lots of ways to catch them, just keep moving away from the traffic.

Good luck and stop in at Eagle Point for a food and drink.

    Tim,
Sandy has had a fabulous bobber bit this season. It didnt get hit hard on opener and plenty for a meal. All that aside the traffic going north will dictate your catching. It has been a boat bonanza every holiday and weekend this year. Every little lake will have plenty of people.

Spend a bit of time with the DNR recreational compass and survey results.
    It will set you free!

I love pulling Ring Grubs across the rock flats mid-summer evenings. It took a while to get someone to start making them again but the basic colors are out now. I dont think I can post a link but will try.

@Joe Yes sir you are! You are in a prime spot to see boat traffic on the weekends. If they get the docks anchored this week it might be my best bet.

Do you fish plastics at all on Sandy for walleyes?

There are more and more of them every year. 14-17 inchers every year. But much like Sandy what you find one day is gone the next.

If the wind picks up this weekend the south shores could be in danger! If you know someone with a cabin that hasn’t been up lately they might want to get up there!

Park N Fly for many years. Pre Covid, I traveled 2-3 times a month. They have been very good for me with prompt service. In the last 3 months or heavy “vacation” times I think they all take a step towards the bad. You must be realistic when you travel, or you will drive yourself nuts! In my opinion getting there and making your flight is more important than having to wait a little longer getting back to your car. Your car is going nowhere and will wait for you. Use the Park N Fly app and you can see the shuttle coming. Casually walk outside and you will make the first shuttle. You also gain reward days pretty quickly that can fund free parking and parking discounts.

I also believe that you can’t skip an update. Find what version your unit is and step it up from there, one update at a time until you are current.
