Williams narrows resort (cut foot sioux) has several web cams at their resort. I look at them daily hoping the ice magically disappears. It hasn’t yet… A lot can change buy opener, but it isn’t looking good right now…

I have several diawa fuego ($99.99) spinning reels and love them. Tried the piscifun and they are nice too and have a nice price point.

Just my $.02 I have 2 skin mounts done several years ago, probably 15. They are starting to show signs of their age and don’t look as good as the day I got them. I have friends that have replicas done that look as good as they the day they got them.

If I ever get the opportunity again it will be a replica simply for longevity.

But, as others have suggested proper handling of a skin mount is accurate in my experience.

I have tried berkley gulp crawlers head to head with real crawlers. Live bait outfitted the gulp by a huge margin. Mille lacs and upper red lake is where I tried this.

Thinking about my truck situation now makes my head spin with the amount of them I have had over the years. I used to trade in about every 3 to 4 years. Currently have f150. Before that f350 diesel. Had that one for about 10 years and over 200,000 miles. Had 2 other 3/4 gassers (chev 2500 and f250) mixed in too. F350 was the best truck I ever owned. 6.4 powerstroke only had a few minor emission related issues. Although it seems others with the engine had more. I pulled fishouse and 20 foot fiberglass boat. And drove to work and kids sports etc as a daily driver. Not the best daily driver, but I made it work.

Here is my take….if in your position I would look for 1 ton diesel. But, you are oviously gonna be limited on inventory. Imo all the bigger HD trucks ride rougher than say an f150. But I honestly can’t tell the difference in 3/4 ton and 1 ton. Have ridden in plenty and realistically its not that bad, especially these new ones. With the amount of driving and pulling it seems you are gonna do diesel is preferred. Im not sure the price difference between a similarly equipped f250 and f350 persay, but the cost of tabs in the long run is gonna save you some cash.

Good luck and have fun. I wish I was in your position!!!👍

So the cables that extend the t’s are the same ones that go to the back of the units?

    Thanks, Matt

Cmap came with my lowrancw ti units a few years ago. It was completely useless on the lakes i fish in Minnesota. Some of them big popular lakes like mille lacs. Cmap had 5 or 10 foot contours (i forget). I bought navionics right away to get the good detail in 1 foot contours.

I had a 1 ton diesel with a 20 foot wheelhouse. I went out on 16 inches but felt way more comfortable on more. I saw guys out with similar outfits on less but not me.

I’m thinking about Wednesday. Everets or the Wisconsin back channel ramps will be open for sure. I wonder about Baypoint?

Yes cmap is crap. I bought 3 elite9’s that came with cmap. Same experience with the lakes here in mn. 3 to 6 foot contours. I had to get navionics cards. I was disappointed because I thought they would have the 1 footers. Oh well, live and learn……

When trolling I usually run 5 footers in conjunction with 9 footers to keep lines spread out. I also have boards in my arsenal I use if I really want spread. All my trolling rods have 10lb mono. Most of the time I will angle the tip of the shorter rods into the boat to increase the distance between lures. I have all cabelas depthmaster rods. The 5 footers, said to be designed for leadcore, are not to stiff. They are perfect for any crank I run. My 9 footers are “planer board” rods and work for long lining or for boards.

Try iwindsurf app. I have found it the most accurate out a day or 2. Their forecasts seem to be a little higher because I believe they cater to a different crowd.

My understanding is the ti2’s will share chart data between the units when connected wirelessly.

I guess I have to deal with it. Out of curiosity is this a new thing? My hds12 gen3 with navionics didnt have this.

I had a 140 johnson which was the same motor as the suzuki, just had a different cowling. Awesome engine. For me, it is the only 1 or the 2 engines I would ever consider. Everyone I know to have had one cant speak highly enough about them. You’ll be happy.

    Now I’m really confused…..

Found this online. But, dug out the hard copy of the manual and it says 3amp.

Guess I’ll just stick with the 3amp fuse.

    Thanks, Matt

Following as I am getting a new boat this year. I have had both on previous boats and had real good luck with both. Honestly dont know if the extra cost of agm is worth it?

I may also be interested in some rigging soon. What is the approximate cost of rigging bow mount, on board charger, and 3 Lowrence graphs on an 18 foot tiller?

    Thanks, Matt

I had the same problem with an older lowrance unit a few years back. My starting battery was in need of replacement and I would loose my tracks. That’s the only thing I could think of. When I replaced my starting battery (which the graph was hooked up to ) the problem went away. Dont know if that could be the case with yours, just figured I would throw it out there.

I was back up Wednesday. Fished shallow rocks and mud. Once again caught fish in both locations. Even caught walleyes in 6 fow in calm sunny conditions. Did better this time in the mud. Seemed like a bug hatch was starting. Surface temp on the main lake when I left was 65. Good luck this weekend. Fishing should be excellent.

I was up Friday for the day. Fished shallow rocks and mud flats. Was not fast and furious but we caught a couple walleyes and smallmouth at each stop. 7 walleyes and 2 bass total. Fish seem really spread out. Water temp closer to shore was low 60’s by the end of the day and main lake 57ish.

On the bright side got my pb walleye and smallmouth in the sameday!!!

Anyone fish over the weekend have an updated water temp?

    Thanks, Matt
