Kwik trip to receive federal funding to ad ev charging stations at it stores across the state. Maybe make ev’s more appealing at least in Wisconsin?

23 million, for the 2,300 registered ev’s in Wisconsin. Seems like a good investment.

Of the 2,300 owned how many are state or county owned?

They would be much better off using that money to hire a few more people so I could actually get some boneless wings when I stop in…… jester

What are they classifying as electric and what is an electric truck? The lightning and hummer are the only electric trucks and I don’t believe either were around in 22 so those numbers I’m not buying.

Probably includes light fleet type trucks I would guess, I don’t know. Also, you’re wrong about both lightning and Hummer. But, whatever, it’s probably all a conspiracy waytogo

ok I was wrong on the hummer since it came out in 21 but the lightning came out in 22 no chance there were that many registered in 22 the hummer is 100k but idk what the lightning goes for but I’m sure it’s close. Not buying those numbers and no I don’t think there is any conspiracy but go on with your narrative.

It’s not my narrative, it’s the numbers published by the Wisconsin DOT. Now that we have data from CaptainMuskys’s ass we know those numbers are false though jester

So reef do you have any explanation for what they consider an EV truck? Are we talking half tons are they including hybrids? Otherwise there is no way that number is that high. There were a total of 4000 Hummers sold between 21 and 22. 15k lightnings sold in 22. No chance those are predominantly going to Wisconsin.

Doesn’t answer my question but thank you for that heavy lifting. No chance those numbers are accurate since there are only 2 trucks that are only evs

Shake my head at alot of gov spending but kwik trip is mostly suburb rural areas? They mostly are here in MN. With that said first thing comes to mind is getting tourism dollars up, more reach for electric suburb dollars to make their way north and spend some dough in small towns, then they build, then you need dealerships, list goes on for economic benefits….

    Just my initial 2cents

I’m sure they are just adding those EV chargers to make sure the tourists from Chicago don’t get stranded in their Teslas and spend any more time in Wisconsin than need be.

In 2021 the fed gov spent $8 Billion for charging stations. Reports are they have only installed seven (single digit seven) so far. Maybe they plan on giving the higher ranking undocumented invasion force solders EV’s with that part of the green energy mega slush fund.

You’re missing Rivian sales of 32,000 EVs since 2022 and estimated to be 40,000 by YE 2024.

The Rivian sales I believe do not include the co-venture to produce Amazon delivery trucks.

Yes grouse I missed those but these numbers were from 2022 not since 2022. You really think a large percentage of them went to Wisconsin? I don’t.

Kwiktrip normally seems busy and packed. (At least the 2 I visit around me are) I am wondering where they will have room to let someone sit for 30 min charging? I get the government having to flip the bill to get this rolling. Google says $60K to $350K per plug-in. That is a lot of upfront money that Kwiktrip will make very little on. A better question is how will Kwiktrip make money on this? Is the power subsidized and they are allowed to make a markup? How is this benefiting them having people more or less loitering?
