ice was good on saturday, seen a few quads on the ice, fishing was slower then anticipated, our group picked up eight eyes and a perch, all good eaters, only one fish hit the 20 mark on the ruler.good luck!!!

never got to meet him but followed his many reports here and on lake link, ive been out fishing in the area where he went down and it is very unpredictable, always have been told to stay away from there.i had a close one up off of houghton point a few years back myself, you have to respect the lake and always be cautious.last march my dad passed away while we were fishing on the big lake from natrual causes,i would like to beleive that theres a few good fishermen in heaven now.R.I.P jim hudson!

very nice net indeed grant, i had one just like it a few years ago, netted one fish with it and then the guy i was fishing with decided to head for shore when we picked up that day and he was in a hurry and the net flew out the back of the boat and before we could get turned around and get back to it the thing sank to the bottom,i sure do miss it.

hey al,sounds like you have all of the right equipment to get you down into the zone, most of my fishing is done in wisconsin waters but the fish are all running deep this time of year, all i can suggest is to start out shallow, maybe around 70 fow and keep moveing out deeper and try to fish the entire water column until you can patern the fish in there feeding habits.theyare very unpredictable as alwyas but if you pick one up there are sure to be more around, goodluck….

ive been running yamaha motors for almost 10 years and never missed a day of fishing,4 strokes are fuel injected and very quiet, that would be my first choice.

hang in there mark the water is still cold 41 degrees so i think the fish will be shallow for sometime yet the ones we got were in less than 15 fow.
