Was up there on Saturday and it was pretty slow. Fished the small lake as well, anything we caught was really small. Sounded like it was the same for everyone else there as well. This was the size of almost all the yellows we got.

This article is from last fall from down here in Iowa. Looks to be the same thing.

X 2 on the night fishing, can be fast action! Had good luck on a big x-rap a few years ago at night. Ladyfish have saved the day a lot while fishing in Florida for my family!

I got the Striker ice suit for Christmas this year. So far, I’ve been very pleased with it. I already had warm clothes, so I didn’t really need more warm clothes, but it floats like the ice armor and that is why I wanted it.

I’ve barely used my ice tent this year. Mainly fish in the tent if my hole keeps freezing up, not because I’m too cold. The coat and bibs are very warm and comfortable. I believe they are based out of Minneapolis. Not cheap, but so far I’m happy with it. I’d give them a serious look if you are going to change brands.

Good luck this season, Chris! Anxious to begin seeing pictures of big walleyes and northerns!

Was on 9 on Saturday, weeds were not a big issue. Some here and there. I don’t think any barges went by, so that probably helped.

Starting to call it Cedar Lake since you have to use a trolling motor to move “downstream”

I can’t watch the video right now. Is that the one where Pugs in the bathtub and he mistakenly grabs the wrong clonk?

Oh, wait. He wasn’t going to post that one.

I hope he doesn’t “accidentally” leak that one to gain more of a celebrity status! Seems like that’s the in thing famous people to do nowadays.

Maybe the clonk can smash AIS inbetween bites…

I recently got a 7’2″ medium light fast action Shimano Compre spinning rod just for this same purpose. (From guess the weight-thanks Dean/Eric/and SBC!!) I spooled it up with 12lb nanofil and it really flings the crankbaits out well! Haven’t used it tons yet, but it handles big and small crankbaits very well, and absorbs the pulls and shakes from the fish nicely. At $110 with a lifetime guarantee I’m happy.
