I wound up pulling the trigger on an 1890. Fits perfectly. Great so far, I will be writing a more thorough review in the next week or so.

If there are two wires, one would be a ground and the other power. Try the accessory switch on the panel, should give you power. Otherwise there should be rigging tubes under the floor that you can pull wire through to your battery. Use your multimeter to verify power.
We were out last Sunday, found some nice crappies. They were pretty shallow.
Have you put a tape measure to that boat when it is on the trailer with the tongue folded and the motor down? I have 23′ to work with and a setup like that is on my short list.
We put Andersen 400 series in this fall and have been very happy so far. They look great and hold the heat better. Bought them at the Home Depot. Probably not the cheapest, but they are really nice.
Standard horizon makes a nice one. Had one in my last boat and was pleased.
Ottertailretreivers.com. I got the name from somebody on this site and got one of their labs. I have never been happier with a dog. Gentle and trainable. 7 months old retrieves to hand with very little correction necessary. Good with the kids too.
Never have found them in stock anywhere, but they do run pretty true to size.
One round would ruin your day Suz.
As a cop, I don’t think it’s a good idea. As a gun enthusiast, I think it is a cool idea.
I used to commute 60 miles one way, light traffic, but the time was a drain on my life. Now I keep the company car in my driveway. Much better deal.
Usually as long as a guy can get turned around once, he can break a lot of ice. Pretty sure that is what the keel on the Alaskan is for.
Figured the headline would raise an eyebrow or or two. Wasn’t sure whether or not the whole thing was down. Ice fishing gear is for emergencies only at my house.
Go run a mile, do 100 situps, 100 pushups and then empty a mag as fast as you can while aiming at center mass
Practicing fine motor skills like pulling a trigger straight back while your body is under extreme physical stress is the closest thing to a life or death situation. Best training out there
This. In the agency I work for, we always integrate pt into our tactical training. If you get your heart rate up, it simulates the fine motor issues that you will experience under stress. Getting in better shape in general will give you a serious advantage should you ever get in a real life and death fight.
Draw to fire reps are a good idea as well. Make sure the range you are at allows holster work. Start at home with an unloaded weapon.
Go through scenarios in your mind as you are moving through your day. “What would I do if?” Is a great training tool.
Might not want to talk numbers on an Internet forum. You never know who is watching….
Tinfoil hat topics aside, I would say whatever you can afford. It never goes bad. Pretty sure my kids will be shooting my ammo after I am gone. If you buy a box every time you go to town for dog food, it adds up pretty quick.
Not dumb, ignorant of the operating system.
This conversation got off track. A stored gun should be empty, I thought we were talking about carrying, as in on your hip. Children should not be given unsupervised access to guns. If it isn’t on your person, it should be locked up. A gun in your glovebox isn’t carried, as it isn’t under your immediate control.
On the subject of 1911’s if cocked and locked makes you nervous, it is because you don’t know how the machine works. I would bet that most carry their grouse gun loaded with the safety on, and any modern shotgun has fewer provisions preventing negligent discharges than a 1911.
Oddly enough over the past few years, we usually don’t start this debate until late February. Must be a cold winter.
Most of them you can use your electric and leave your engine tilted up.
+1 on the tow tector. Have had mine for three seasons, it keeps the rocks off the boat. They make them for your truck with a window for the exhaust
That is a good heads up, too bad the decline of decency is so severe.
I haven’t had any rock chips since I installed a tow tector. I run a F350 with big tires that had been hard on the finish of a previous boat.
Looks like a safe queen to me. I have a few guns that I keep for sentimental reasons.
That being said, if you want to shoot it, go ahead. It is yours after all. It may be “worth” more if you never fire it, but monetary value is only important if you plan on selling it.
Between fixing snoopy rods and doling out the snacks, I did manage to put one nice eye in the boat, great to get back out on the water.
Fish tape did the trick, should be able to light the way now. No wires visible, uses the spare switch on the factory panel.
Glad to hear it! Should be a better format for that (probably every) lake.
