You can order them online custom pick your color options to match the house and type in your numbers and they ship it out. I don’t have a pic but they look nice. DNR number is all that I did but a phone number is not a bad idea Coletrain.

I had a local graphics shop make my stickers and I like having my phone number on there in case somebody needs to get ahold of me when it’s parked at a resort or needs to be moved in a hurry for some reason and they can get ahold of me easily

    Thats a good point

I didn’t put it together that the numbers on the house should be my DNR #.

Yea those core houses aren’t my jam, but im sure they’re well built. I wouldn’t mind building one out myself if i had more time.

It doesn’t have to be a race

It certainly wouldn’t be. But with my schedule between work and kids, i bet it’d be a 5 year build. At this stage of my life I’m not interested in that, although i change my mind easily.

If i could afford 2 boats id have a tiller. But, i do love my windshield quite often. We also have kids and do a lot of knee boarding, tubing etc. That said, if i was going to buy a tiller, yea, something closer to the 30-40k range would be for me. I couldn’t justify 50+

All baseball in this house, but kinda wish my son would have done hockey. Think he could have been good at it.

This house does have the boxes vented. The main house battery, and the hydro battery in a different location.

So would i be correct to assume if i switched from a lead acid to an agm or something, my issue would potentially be eliminated?

The battery box is in fact right next to the detector, and is unsealed. It is an enclosed battery container, but no bolts holding it together and no seal between the two pieces of plastic. Maybe that will be my first thing to try.

For what its worth, its been sitting all day now and hasn’t started beeping again after i reset it this morning.

I run almost all Milwaukee and my tools get used hard. I remodel and do custom tile. Milwaukee has been solid for me, though not immune to problems. Nothing major, couple old old batteries that have given up. I ran Makita for about 10 years at my last company and honestly never really had issues with them either, other than the 18v brad nailer. Thats probably the single worst tool i have ever owned.

The actual reality of it is, Makita, milwaukee and dewalt are so close that it doesnt really matter. Pick which color you like best, or figure out which tool youll use the most often (impact? Driver? Multi tool?) And see which one from which brand is the most comfortable in your hand. I honestly dont believe there is an actual best.

Lots of great suggestions here, and much appreciated. I didn’t realize I could go to a range and test/rent a variety of guns. I don’t ever range shoot, even my rifles. We just shoot and sight our guns in on the same land we hunt.

Thinking of getting the boat loaded up and trying to hit pool 2 for the first time in a few years. Anyone have much luck lately? Wondering if i should wait another week or so and hope it clears up a bit first.

I havent used them, but there’s a company called Marine Clean in Stillwater. I’m thinking of having him do mine at the end of this season.

dang I wish i could jump on this right now. That’s basically my dream boat, but we’re in the process of buying a new (to us) 5th wheel, so i think the wife might have my head if I tried to sell my current boat and buy a new one right now as well!

If I could go back 15-20 years i’d join a union for sure. I’ve been remodeling homes for a small company for 22 years now, and while they treat me well, and I have a lot of nice benefits, its nothing compared to what I could make in the union. I’m still young enough (39) to make the jump, but I really like what i’m doing and where i’m doing it, and at some point i’ll likely just go off on my own. But yea, I SHOULD have joined the union when I first started in construction. I’d be well on my way to a nice pension and early retirement. I’ll absolutely be showing my children the benefits of union work when they reach working age.

I wish I was targeting cold water walleye. Instead, i’m realizing I am at the stage in my life where I have almost no time to do what I want, and instead spend the majority of my time either working or hauling the kids around to their various activities. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my kids and enjoy watching them do their things, but I’m not gonna lie, I like fishing more.

Edit: To clarify, I like fishing more than I like watching a 5 year old do gymnastics etc. etc. Not that I like fishing more than I love my kids. =) =)

Lake Winnipeg for big Greenbacks through the ice, fully guided trip. The wife and I are likely going to plan it for our 20th anniversary in 3 years.

I’ve toyed with the idea of a new boat for a couple years now. However, with pricing and timelines the way they are, now I have no intention of parting with my 2014 Dominator. It’s about to be paid off, and I can’t imagine taking on the payment of a new boat now.

I purchase Wisconsin rifle deer and wisconsin fishing along with my Minnesota fishing license. That’s it for non-resident, but it’s enough. I hate how expensive they are, but i wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t worth it.

Brooklyn Park does one ever year. April, I believe. It’s at the City Hall building. I haven’t missed it in probably 12 years. Unfortunately, the smelt are small these days. But, the portions are generous.

Funny enough i just spent the weekend out there. My wifes cousin invited me to stay in his wheelhouse… i thought what the heck.

48 hours on the ice and we caught one eelpout at midnight and a 5 inch perch. We had cameras down the whole weekend and never even saw a fish. Spent all day saturday running around in a portable and only even marked 2 fish on the graph. We tried a dozen spots anywhere between 12 and 35 ft of water. Rocks, mud, sand. Probably drilled 75 holes.

At this point i really have no desire to go back. So ultimately, going back to the original question… THAT is the downside to a skid house on Mille Lacs, in my opinion.
