Do you know how much water you had crossing the old shoreline coming out the ramp? We are heading there the 12th of August. Also what areas were you targeting?

    Thanks.

I will be bringing the wife, our two year old and my boat, so no camping for us. We are trying to find a resort or a house on the water with a dock and a beach close by.
    Thanks.

I have been happy with my Arctic Shield coat and bibs, warm and not bulky.

I went back the next day and searched high and low on the property and all of the adjacent properties but did not find him, the rain and snow the night before did not help at all either. But the good news is I got back in the stand and arrowed a bruiser Sunday night and put a great shot on him and recovered him without a problem, I will post pics once I download them.

Good luck to the rest of the Iowa bow hunters. Should be a nice morning with lows in the 30’s.

I use a winchester 1300 with a rifled barrel and shoot the remington copper sabots, 2 3/4″, and have killed deer out to 90 yards with it.

There is a lot of public land in the NW part of the state and typically that area has had good numbers of birds in the past.

Does anyone put a piece of elec. tape on the end of the barrel to keep snow / rain out, is it safe to do?

Went Sat and our group shot 2, on Sun we shot 1. Lots and lots of corn still in, so I am hoping the birds are hanging out in the corn, and the late season hunting will be good.

Thanks for the info. Another question if I do catch anything can a guy find a place or someone to cook it?

My last dog Rocky passed away when he was 9 in the summer (cancer) and the fall before he still hunted, instead of hunting both days of the weekend we would hunt one or just half a day. He is a pic of the last bird that he retrieved that he had to chase 1/4 mile out into a plowed corn field.
