The Leafs really made this as heartbreaking as possible for their fans, and I truly appreciate that rotflol

I think someone a couple pages back even said forcing game 7 and losing in OT would be the best way to watch this series end. Only thing that woulda made it better was if Marchand scored it. Was an entertaining game even with the lack of scoring.
Boston is going to need to button some things up this next round.

Our best chance at any sort of run (mayyybe through round 1) was when Fiala was still with us and that third line was clicking. We had some confidence and were healthy then. Sure came to a screeching hault in the playoffs though.

This years team was brutal and next year will be a carbon copy. Maybe worse.

Toronto Boston is going to be great series. Only team I want to lose more in the first than Toronto is Dallas. The knights are just different with playoff Stone.

Of course Stone scores in the first minute…

    Stone schmone.

The real story here is pure goal scorer Ryan Suter just tied it.

Edit. Uh oh. Taken away by challenge.

The only reason he almost scored was because he missed the center of the shin pad this time and got lucky with the outer edge of it..

Watching the first few games of the playoffs and i’m glad the Wild didn’t sneak in somehow… there’s zero chance they could handle the pace or physicality… we’re just not built for it yet…

playoff hockey is just a different beast… its friggin awesome!!

As talked about in the past those first 5-10 mins of a new series are just wild. And yeah, our fragile team woulda been swept.

Not sure how many lake fish will be out east by then. Sure is intriguing though. It’s crazy how far and fast those fish move after spawning in all river systems.

Always hear great reports of numbers and size from baudette to the lake each opener.

Red Lake as usual if not too windy. Nothing like gorging on fresh deep fried walleye once a year.

That lake is going to be low. Hopefully they get out dredging if they haven’t already.

I share all the love for Faber and Rossi here.

But the Hughes kid and Faber have basically the same stats. What separates those two? Obviously Bedard is going to win but I sure don’t see Luke Hughes get thrown out there as much as Brock does. Is it the +/- that is the true separating factor there?

I do not see how a hockey team will be successful in Utah. My opinion.

I also think it would be a bad move to have Winnipeg go back to Atlanta.

Really enjoyable watching KK do the bank shot off of Talbot as well as the classic hip check on Fiala. KK almost had another goal that Talbot nearly kicked in as well.

Poor Gologoski, missed that chance after getting out of the box, but he had to shoot high to get away from the defender’s stick, it wasn’t the “empty net” chance the homer LA announcers were saying it was.

Good luck to LA in the playoffs, they won’t be there for long, but I suppose Fiala is just getting ready to put it in beast mode and once again become a playoff goalscoring machine as he’s done so often in the past. It’s like the guy has another gear, there’s Playoff Overdrive, and then Fiala Playoff Over-overdrive.

I have not gotten to watch many games the last few weeks but I did catch the hip check and the goal. The hip check was great and even better with it being on Fiala.

Good to talk to you last night, Mike. Was a little too busy where we ended last night.

Today we fished a different stretch and did well. Had the area all to ourselves. Biggest went 28”. Lots of 24-26”

Fished for a few hours this evening. Biggest went 29.25” with plenty others in the 24-27.5” range. Fishing seemed a bit slower in general than last week. Caught around 30 or so.

Might fish sturgeon tomorrow. Might bring minnows. Might troll. Idk

I have not gotten to watch as much this year but have seen a bit here and there. I thought the wind was bad on Thursday but yesterday looked way worse.

It’s not too often you see any debris on the ground at Augusta. I think I saw more leaves and stuff on and off the greens yesterday than all other years combined. Looks like today and tomorrow mellow out and heat up so expect some wild greens these last two days.

I hope the final pairing are tied at the top heading into the back 9 on Sunday. So fun to watch when that happens. Pulling for Scottie although Homa would be good too – Just not Bryson.

I’m a big Rapala fan, but yes I also agree they have lost some quality recently.

Have you tried the Berkeley hit stick as a replacement for the husky jerks? I have caught a pile of fish on them.

Was the bite good at both birchdale and frontier?

    Yep.

You’ll find more big fish away from people. The crowds are on numbers.

Very good bite the last three days. Very very bad wind the last three days. Today was our best with the biggest going 29.5”

1/4 and 3/8 oz jigs with paddle tails in some sort of natural/white combo was the deal for us. Dragging and pitching both worked. Found all our fish relating to gravel and not so much on sand.

The amount of 22-26” fish right now is insane.

Digikey also sells these but I don’t know if they have a physical store. They are definately available online though.

I work at DK. You’ll be able to find them online if you have any part number for it.

He is one of the few canadians that play college hockey. Good get for BU too especially with how good he is. Most would stay in Canada and play junior.

A lot more than you would think play college. 30% of the NCAA is made up of canucks.

Do you know how many play college when they’re 18 vs say 21+ after a few years in Canadian juniors? Curious how that calculates out.

The NCAA, in their infinite wisdom, put a Michigan/UND regional in a 2500 seat arena in Maryland Heights, Missouri. I haven’t seen an atmosphere like it since 10 am Saturday Mites B in house championship at Braemar.

So dumb. There’s neutral site high school arenas in mn that could hold more.

I am going up next Saturday April 6th never been. I have a fiberglass boat, which landing is the best/deepest to launch from?

I don’t think you’ll have a problem at any access really. However the farther west you stay the deeper the river is in general. As you go east there gets to be more shallow stretches and rocks/logs. This year I’ve seen rocks and logs I didn’t know existed. She is low.

I’ve found it’s best to go to a place like l&m where they still have the old school yellow jig trays on the peg boards. You should be able to find what you need there.

    Finding pre-packaged 1oz is tough.

I don’t see them getting by BU but if they do I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it to the last dance.

BC is the heavy favorite. Anyone have any average ages for the all the remaining teams? Seems every year it becomes the young small skilled team against the old Canucks.

Yeah I see a lot of people out there either flirting with the line or fully fishing Ontario waters. Many times they have live bait and/or alcohol. I have been checked out there by Ontario officers a couple times the last two springs. I recommend following Canada’s laws… could get expensive otherwise.

I don’t like September up there. Weather can be all over the board and fish are in transition from the basin to the river or onto shallow structure. It can be a real crap shoot.

I think late May, early June or October are the best times of year. October is also a great time to get on big smallies on shallow structures.

I agree with this. Early Sept can be fine if they’re still in summer mode and late September can be fine if they’re already in fall mode. Generally speaking, I’d stay away from that month too.
