I’m looking for a one ounce jig that works with plastics. Cabela’s says they’re out of stock on everything. I looked at Scheels, Marine General, Sportman’s Warehouse, Northlands website, etc. Somebody must make heavy jigs!

I’ve found it’s best to go to a place like l&m where they still have the old school yellow jig trays on the peg boards. You should be able to find what you need there.
Finding pre-packaged 1oz is tough.

Dead end tackle is where I have ordered them before.
Ive struggled in past years to find 1 ouncers too so I hear ya. I used to get them up at the tackle shops in Baudette but rarely see em locally. I have found some at Fleetfarm and the Owatonna Cabelas in the past but you got to look hard!

The last couple of trips down to Pool 4 I was a lot more successful if I had the jig just barely off bottom. That’s easier to do if you’re fishing more vertically, which means a heavier jig.

1oz Johnson Silver Minnow weedless spoons are one of my favorite baits. I tip them with plastic baits.

This year? As in recently? Or are we talking a high flow year?
I too hard a hard time locating 1 oz jig heads at Cabela’s and other local stores. Ended up buying these on Amazon – unpainted. Thought it would be fun to paint the jig heads using powdered paint which I purchased from Harbor Freight.
Nice way to kill a few hours when it’s cold outside.

Look at deadendtackle.com. They sell a jig called the Detroiter, specifically designed for the Detroit River. It is 1 oz.

Lure Lipstick carries a variety of 1 oz jigs. long shank sickle hooks that work well with plastics on DBQs
I like using 1 oz jigs up on rainy for sturgeon. I used to get all mine from Steve at Steve’s lucky bait, he had to good ones with the gami hooks. To bed he is gone. And sorry I wouldn’t know of any where locally.

Look up http://www.lurepartsonline.com They have lots of stuff painted or not. They have the paints if you want to do that yourself to.
