beardly, which transmission shop did you use?
My brother has had good work done and been satisfied at Kennedy in Plymouth. That is close to me.

    Eric Transmission Repair near Elko.

I had the exact thing in my 2015 and it was the torque converter. I believe the flush “fix” is for the 8 speed. The dealership said they could rebuild the torque converter but for a similar price, longer warranty and no guessing if other tranny parts were compromised, I had a transmission shop rebuild the entire thing. I had more places suggesting to rebuild the entire tranny to be safe than just the torque converter.

My buddies 2018 8 speed tranny did the same thing. He tried the flush, didn’t work and ended up doing a rebuild as well.

I said this in another thread that was similar. St. Croix has always been great. I’ll gladly take anyone’s Croixs and have bought many on here.

X4 or whatever we are at. I typically like Jay’s stuff but couldn’t watch the whole thing. Tech isn’t going anywhere in the fishing world but man…

It was still a great time this year, even with all the changes. Will be interesting to see how they do it next year with/without buttons, not being present to win and still entice people to show up. The people that were there this year weren’t really aware of the new changes and already had their trips planned.
There was alot of prizes that were left for the non-present winners which seem like it would suck for Hunters to have to store them until pickup.

GS makes good frames too. I’ve always hated the Glacier windows. Pick the layout you like and start fishing.

I’ve heard it’s a great time. As far as tickets, I seen on the FB group there will be some available at the gate but first come first serve. Have fun!

    .

Most days I still carry something without a dot, but more and more I carry the FN with the dot. It all really depends on what I’m wearing. Sometimes it’s an lcp with gutter sights in my pocket.

I’ve been looking at the .380 LCP for a pocket gun. I know there is debate on safety vs non for carry. But not have a safety and it in my pocket bothers me. Do you have it in some sort of slim holster?

Another suffering here…. between hunting, motors, and starting out young in the construction industry I’ve struggled with it along time. Sure hope to hear some success with the acupuncture deal. Ear protection was never really pushed on me. I now have ear plugs and muffs everywhere for my kids.

.I don’t really have one since I see it as a challenge but I’d if I had to pick one I’d say Leech Lake..I can’t catch a cold on that lake..like to hear other peoples tales of woe.

Leech is also my least favorite lake. Only have fished it in August while on family vacations but can never figure it. One fish here and there but never even ok….

I read it as making sure people put trash and poop bags in a container so they dont freeze into the ice or blow away resulting in stuff left on the ice. I doubt they will ticket for taking a wazz on the ice. And not cleaning up after your dog is just plain lazy, regardless of where you are. The same entitlement you guys are displaying on that is the same as the guys dumping their sewage while driving down the road.

Ever been on a sled dog trail? Gross… but I doubt the dnr will ticket them too. People just need to have common sense and clean up after they’re done. You know, like you were taught in kindergarten.

I hunt 118 and 605. Both zones have far different different habitat…. Zone 118 has been on a significant downward trend for deer sightings and harvest the last 5 years. There has never really been alot of deer but we are now seeing more wolves or wolves sign than deer. This year was the worst year for us and many camps in the zone. Many of us hunt dusk to dawn and don’t see a deer over the week we are up there. Sometimes this is a normal occurrence for hunting but not for every person at multiple camps….

Zone 605 has been decimated with the CWD management. When I first moved here it was either sex with bucks having antler restrictions (had many nice bucks on cameras), then 2 deer, then about 3 years ago all restrictions were removed and you could kill as many as you wanted. The neighbors were having contests. Every small buck was shot. Now we are a 5 deer zone with no restrictions. The deer heard in the area is not even close to the same for numbers or caliber. Our closest cwd positive deer is well over 20 miles from us. Just a shame what happens in these cwd zones.

    Even worse this year…

The neighbors are even complaining that there isn’t any deer around…. same ones who were shooting literally anything/everything. Weird.

Didn’t OPEC do something, too? Usually one refinery down wouldn’t make that much of an impact…. however shutting multiple down does….

Are you talking about wind being a problem or something else?

    Pretty much.

I run a 2021 9.9 zuk on a 19′ tin boat. Max mph I get is 6 mph wide open. If you’re thinking of higher speeds, maybe the 15 is better. Also on the kicker speed systems… I’ve been messing with using my trolling motor for speed control. I can not wait until I’m able to upgrade with a kicker speed control module/decice. Some weather days it works perfect and other weather days it’s a struggle. Which one is still up to debate.

Is it a a true kicker motor or just a regular 9.9…big difference.

If you need to go that speed into big waves you are not fishing reguardless. With the waves no problem. Been out on Lake Michigan in 6-8 ft rollers and can go that speed but you are not doing it for long. You are going with the waves and at that point 4 mph you might have you kicker in neutral.

Dutch I will run my kicker at full speed and report back on to what top speed I get but 4 mph I am not close to maxing out.

At that point you may as well just run the big motor.

It is a kicker with the 4 blade prop. Agree on the rest of your post.

Thanks everyone. I’m liking the extra couple features of the Garmin Pro and it’s on sale. The bark limiter seems pretty nice. She barely ever barks but I cant stand it when she does. I also like the remote layout vs the Dogtra. Seemed like most Dogtra doesn’t have a tone either. Alot of stuff I’ve been reading is to not use the tone but…..

Working with our 6 month old lab out of Soggy Acres Retrievers in Jainseville. Jeff did a great job answering all my questions and was very responsive which wasn’t the case with some other breeders I reached out to.

The American vs British comments are funny. They’re dogs… I’ve seen big, small, calm and crazy out of both sides. Talk to the breeders and tell them what you want in size, temperament and field work. Then go get a puppy!

Just got back from up there. We found most of our fish on the mud. Looked on some gravel but just didnt see much. Spinners and crawlers, rigs with leeches were better one day but seemed like mostly a crawler bite to us. Got em on bobbers at sundown either on rocks or mud. Good luck, it’s a solid bite.

    My thoug

Years ago I was keeping 12-14″ sauger on LOW ice fishing. Group I was with didn’t keep any “small” fish. They certainly didn’t hold back after I cleaned and fried them…

    This…..

The small pieces are always the first to go! For crappies, 9-10.5 is perfect.

    Nice job man!

My son and I sat next to you at the turkey seminar at A-1. My son is the lad you gave that jake decoy too from the raffle. Happy to report he passed a small jake this morning! We thank you very much! He was so happy to use his own decoy this morning!

Not to hijack the thread but I’ve recently bought a bunch of unfinished jigs to try and start doing my own colors. Is the pro-tec powder paint the best way to go with out spraying gear? Do you put a clear coat on top?

hmmmm? i curse at my 2019 plenty of times but it is still one of the greatest innovations in fishing.

Mine is about the same year and was having a little trouble. Called Minkota and they walked me through some settings and man did it make a difference. Something about needing to be changed back to legacy mode….. I’ll have to see if I can find the notes I took when I talked to them. Definitely helped.

I dealt with 2 guys on p2 blocking the entire ramp why they loaded the boat with there gear and put on winter bibs. I just politely said there’s a 100 other places to do that and not block the ramps lol. I tried to sound nice, but I tend to come off as a ass more often then intended
    [/quote]

Sometimes the people have no idea what they are doing is completely messing stuff up….. other times they are just being inconsiderate…. I always try to be nice and helpful but I’m sure it cones off as being an ass too. Either way it usually gets the group moving.

Between all of the buddies there is Yamaha, Honda and Predator. Both Predator guys have all ready returned their generators for new one’s within a few months. They will be buying a different brand. Even though you get a new one it doesn’t help when they ruin your weekend buy bot running. A neighbor fish house had a Predator as well and had it grenade. Cant comment on the Wen, however.

I can’t imagine having a $200K rig with all the latest and greatest and putting up one 12”er. That would sting. Looking at you Max Wilson.

    Hahahahahaha!
