They should be announcing the date later this month. It was the second weekend in April last year.

what about stocking walleyes in lakes that they don’t naturally produce in? Why should we stock at all if fish can’t sustain themselves enough for a healthy population after they’ve been fished. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

I’m running a new terrova and it has been operating perfect since I updated the software

Completely forgot about that. Yes, it does have a button to press that will give me an idea on the remaining charge. Well that wraps up this thread haha

I have an ’18 competitor 175 sport that I bought new this spring. I like it a lot so far but I upgraded for a 70s 14′ lund. I find it very stable with how wide it is. I have been told many times that alumacraft is the better value, while lund may have a slightly nicer boat, the price difference doesn’t justify it.

received the tough claw stabilizer and it was too short to reach my motor shaft so I had to return it and then ordered the base, tough claw and a longer arm separately. I switched bases to a rectangle one that will fit my mounting bracket better too

For those that have one, how did you mount it? I will have to mount it to an alumatrac bracket. Is yours mounted similar or screwed/bolted to the top of the gunnel?

I’ve never seen my motor head come close to hitting the gunnel either but I guess I want one to prevent stress on the shaft of the t-motor. When t-motors are a few thousand bucks, a stabilizer doesn’t seem like too bad of an insurance policy

Saw quite a few sturgeon in the water over this past weekend when going slow to get into walleye spots, makes wish I knew how to fish for them

By trimming I mean moving the depth collar up and down so less or more of the motor/shaft are in the water. I’ve used spot lock a few times but I think I was using it when I had the motor trimmed up a bit and the depth collar tightened

I’m not certain if the depth collar was tight when all the way down, obviously I had to tighten it when it was up a little but I have doubts that I tightened it when it was down.

I have a helix 9 g2n mega si and terrova ipilot with link and using a lakemaster MN V7. I’m confident it’s not any of those causing the issue as it works when the motor is trimmed up. It works for a few seconds when trimmed all the way down then shuts off. When I trimmed it up, I got it to work for a half hour before I brought it up and moved.

not sure if it’s HD or not but the function works better when the motor is trimmed up about 8 inches. It’s odd though because manual steering works just fine when trimmed all the way down.

Yeah, it’s mapped on the lakemaster chip, it worked when I trimmed the motor up just not when the motor was all the way down but the motor works just fine in manual mode when the motor is down all the way

Not sure on the fuse/breaker as I haven’t dug into the boat and dealer installed everything. I ended up calling minnkota and they said it sounds like the steering housing could be bad so I brought it back to the dealer to have them check it out. It stinks cause the trolling motor is only 4 weeks old and has only been in the water twice now.

Winnie or Cass area is about as far north as I’d like to go. I’ve found a lot of resorts on the explore MN site but thought I’d try to get some reviews or suggestions from other fishermen first people

Anyone know if the lakemaster chip has Roberds on it? I found out the preloaded lakes on the helix 9 doesn’t include Roberds

Sharp! But it’s in the garage…should be on the water! )

I know but I was told to not baby it when breaking it in and didn’t think the river in the spring is the best time to be going fast especially since I’ve never really fished or even boated on the river before. I plan on fishing the river this summer and consistently in the future but for now it sounds like I need to wait for the ice to come off the lakes. neutral

I’ve been having a group come right into my backyard the past few days. Might be able to just get one from the patio door if I feel like it.

The guide idea doesn’t sound so bad. I think I’ll take my boat out to a few lakes a few times to get used to it before taking it to the river. Does anyone know of a any guides that can show me some spots or techniques in the river?

Perfect, that’s going to be way cheaper than buying the SI version. I really wanted the 7 to work for this so I can get the ice pack for it next winter as well

Do I then still need a 7 SI to see the SI from the back?

I’m getting a boat with the helix 9 si on the console but also want to have a helix 7 si up front going off a terrova. Can the 9 ducer be shut off so both units are using the terrova and both units using the 9 ducer on the transom when the terrova is not down?

Lacannes can put any motor on your boat. I just bought a competitor from them and put a yamaha but my second choice was honda and they said they could have done that too.
