Will sun shining down the hole on a sunny day have negative effects, when the ice/snow cover is thick enough to limit light penetration?

When I sold my boat I had him come to my bank with a cert. bank check. Let the bank check that its good, then sign the title.
A guy down this way just got took 5k on a 4 wheeler. He sold it to someone for cash, ended up being all counterfit!
March 16, 2011 at 1:29 am #947552Got out again today. Water temp is still around 33-34 degrees. Ended up with 5 today, but I bet I missed that many more. Only one 18″ keeper, the rest were over 20, with one very fat 23″ female.
I didn’t try hair to much today, as they were crushing a 5″ grub on a gold glitter hutch jig.
I did get a few fish dragging jigs up shallow this evening, in about 10′ so thats a good sign. Back at it again tomorrow, will report.
February 8, 2011 at 10:31 pm #935250I have an Alumacraft Navigator 165 tiller. Its a nice boat and fishes 3 pretty easy with the 91″ beam. I had an older Alumacraft with the narrower 80″ beam, and the extra width makes a huge difference. My only recomendation would be to put atleast a 70 or 75hp on it. I have a 60 Merc and its slow with more than one person.
February 8, 2011 at 5:27 pm #935114I think you can get more boat from Alumacraft for the same price.
June 18, 2010 at 3:27 am #880983Good luck, Im in a similar situation, and things do seem to get better with time. Hopefully the same happens for you.
As was stated, document everything. A good website to check out is iowafathers.com, I know its iowa based but there are some things on there that you might be able to relate to.
May 24, 2010 at 9:37 pm #874571Thanks for the report Bos. Sorry to hear about the motor, hopefully your back on the water soon.
May 17, 2010 at 11:33 pm #872579I think I have the same one as Rootski. My only complaint is I wish you could lock the seat in position from spinning. Cabelas sells a fancy one for like 200 that looks nice, but I couldn’t justify dropping that much coin.
May 17, 2010 at 1:59 am #872352I went up today, and they bit pretty well. Kept about 30 of the bigger ones. The wind made it a challenge though.
May 6, 2010 at 10:19 pm #870027Good luck Steve, I look forward to your report. I need to get back out that way soon!
April 25, 2010 at 6:28 pm #866644Tell ya what Dave, I’ll buy the crawlers if you buy the gas
I’ve seen it done and it does work well, but be carefull, Don’t want to hear about you on 1000 ways to die.
April 19, 2010 at 11:11 pm #865195I was in the same boat, and ended up breaking down and buying new. (Hope to pick it up tomorrow)
Once in awhile there are some boats on k-bid.com, just a thought.
April 1, 2010 at 10:15 pm #859857Per the Dnr report the ramps useable. You could call the gas station in town, J&L’s, they would know.
January 15, 2010 at 12:16 am #832366Lawrence, did you cross above the dam and it was cracking? I was out yesterday and it was still in good shape, but there pulling water through at a good rate, so it wont take long to be unsafe.
Thanks for the update.
January 5, 2010 at 12:26 am #829515Nice fish Bos. Is there still much of a tip up bite going on up that way?
December 16, 2009 at 11:11 pm #823950Brian, I echo your post. I found similar results on pool 9 as well. Not sure what the deal was.
I’m just glad to hear you found some good ones! I sure hope we can get back to the good old days.
Hopefully we cross paths this weekend! (pms welcome )
June 9, 2009 at 9:16 am #782588Nice report Bos. How is the water clarity, it looks pretty good in your pictures. I was up last Thursday, and man was it dirty!
March 30, 2009 at 10:32 pm #763959Thanks for the report Lawrence. I hope to get out later this week into next week, things should pick up I hope.
March 16, 2009 at 1:35 am #758900Sorry to hear that Dan. Hopefully things turn around for you soon.
