I just purchased two Dr Prepare 100AH lifePO4 batteries for $209 each delivered, since my LA`s were on their way out nothing to lose if they last six years I am good with that for the price, if they go longer money in my pocket.

Prices like this will make deep cycle flooded and agm batteries go bye bye very soon

Paid 139.99 for a Duracell 31 series AGM back in 2018,that battery now goes for 214.00 or so.Don see the prices on lead acid/AGM batteries going down.

Hmmmm. Nobody mentions the Jiffy Lightning??? ???

It’s a little heavier and more expensive than others. An older guy I fish with bought one on sale,it seems to be decent and has more metal parts like the handles. No idea on how many holes per charge yet.

The deep series Plano 3700 hold those gulp jars perfect.I pull back the foil seal halfway, and pull out whatever I need with a tweezers. No more fingers full of gulp juice.Very little leaking by leaving original seal on jar.For ice fishing,I put them in the whizz sample jars. The pink lid ones that Mayo has also fit into the Plano deep box.

I am in the same market. My batteries are due for replacement.

24v system, does a guy go with a single 24v 100ah battery or 2 12v ? And I was also curious about the battery heater. It could also install a quick connect and charge inside at home. I fish in cold weather between p2 and rainy river style trips, do these batteries perform well in 5 degree weather? Sorry for asking on this thread I didn’t want to start another

2×100 12v if you have the room. The 24v singles are fairly spendy, but that was my only option to get 24v.Or if cost is not an issue,2-24v in parallel.

That’s a bad spot, right where the torsion bars mount. You’re lucky it didn’t separate and drop the bars. But anything can be repaired, and that’s the reason I just hate the crap they spread on the roads.

I used Locktite 243(blue),takes about 24 hours to set.Just apply not too much to threads and let set for 24 hours. It was cheaper for me to buy the shaft online and replace it myself,vs having to ship it to an ASC.

I wrapped rubber on the shaft, and used channel lock pliers to turn.Just make sure you use the proper sealant. Was harder removing the old one, heat gun helped.

Get some D-Fense SC,I have wiped-out entire ant mounds with it.Deltamethrin is what it is.Works on all kinds of insects.

    Is that over the counter?

I usually do the gel ant baits. They carry it back to the nest and kill the whole nest. Ant sprays make you feel good to watch them die. However, by not getting it down into the nest they sometimes split up and make multiple nests and your worse off than before.

I got it from Amazon.Works better than anything Ortho or Terro.Mix in a spray bottle and hit the affected area and perimeters.Excellent for getting rid of Asian beetles.

So, I just received my new HDS 9 Live units and was getting the shuttle all set up excited to get into the live imaging game. I turned the unit on and was doing the initial setup and I get the dreaded “No GPS Fix” message and annoying beeping. I thought maybe it was because I was in the house. Went outside, same thing. I fired up the other unit thinking maybe there was just something wrong with that one and same thing.
So I got to digging and went through settings and it didnt have a GPS source assigned. WTF! Why wouldnt it come factory defaulted to “This Unit”? Dumb
THey both work fine now and loving the larger screens, but trying out the Active Target will have to wait a bit.

It’s left blank for those that network and use a Point 1 antenna. You then choose your source during set-up.

I have had 1 dud Lowrance unit and that was the 334iGPS.LMS350A was brilliant, and the LCX16ci was excellent. And back then H-Bird was still using pixel blocks.
But Lowrance CS is something to be improved.
One of the best units from the way past was Bottom Line, almost as detailed as a paper graph. And their CS was excellent, and repair turnaround was fast.

Fishing for smallmouth but only posting <em class=”ido-tag-em”>walleyes in the video? must not know how to fish for smallies. I have seen him on other videos and shows around and heard from people that have seen him in action around Milwaukee, havent heard anything positive over the years but I have no first hand experience with him

He is a spot sniper, and will horn in on guys that are catching fish.Like telling them to get off my lawn. This is on Lake Michigan tribs.
Punishment should be him and John G in the same boat for a day,but maybe they will like each other?

I’ll wait for the reruns on Sunday morning. I didn’t hear the size of it on the radio this morning but I was kinda hoping it would be big enough to tip the earth a bit with it’s gravitational pull to keep us in this great freeze/thaw cycle to keep from MAJOR flooding they were predicting a few weeks ago.

Still forecasting major flooding based on historical data. That first warmup and heavy rain will do it. Don’t want another 2001.
Everyone should get out Atari Asteroids and start shooting. If you don’t kill the spaceship, that will bring a major flood?

I am considering going lithium as well. I want to go with a 24 volt single battery in the bow for the trolling motor and free up the second battery in the stern for an exclusive electronics battery and leave the starting battery for just that. Anyone have it set up that way and any reason not to do it?

I have a single 24v and never ran out of power. Using PP Charge keeps 24v good.I have no room for 3 batteries and got tired of 12v trolling motors-mostly gutless for spot lock in currents.
One can now get a 24v single 100ah that is a 31 series size.

One item that I found out after I bought my boat in 2015 was the spare trailer tire. Mine came with one, but the lug nut wrench for my truck didn’t fit the lug nuts on my boat trailer tires. Luckily, I found this out when it was in the garage one day with a bad valve stem, and not out on the road with a flat. Bought a 4-way tire iron that now sits under the back seat of my truck.

Harbor freight breaker bar and impact socket.Could also make a good weapon if needed.

No real way to prevent pike/gar biteoffs other than using wire leaders. Pike have bit through 65lb braid.

Neutra 131 is 3 ounces to 5 gallons or a twelve ounce bottle will treat 25 gallons of fuel.
Neutra marine extreme 5131 twelve ounce bottle will treat 50 gallons of fuel.

How would you compare this to Yamaha ring free or Mercury Quickleen?Or BRP 2+4?

Going on season 4 with a 24/75AH single LifePo4 battery, used with an Ulterra and Terrova #80lb.That was the largest 24 single that was available in a 31 series case, now there is a 24/100AH.Where will it end?I have VERY little room for batteries,so I went with a 12V 125AH Ionic,PP Charge and the 24V single. Both batteries, charger and custom box weigh in at about 70lbs,that is lighter than the Odyssey 31 AGM,that sucker weighs around 77lbs.
Only time I ran the 24 down to 28% was when I was out in the mid 20s,and the PP charge stopped charging like it was supposed to do.Ran 4 or so hours on constant spot lock with just battery. It’s a set-up that works great, far better than running a 12V motor on river currents, where I would run batteries flat.

It’s amazing how any of us survived without AWD tanks.

Agreed. It also amazes me that people buy there kids first vehicles for more then a few grand. I guess I had it rough. No one ever gave me a vehicle. I actually couldn’t drive till I was 17 and afford My own rig. Damn parents were not easy on me

It’s a whole different world now.My first almost free vehicle was a 1969 Oldsmobile F85 with a”W31″ option.Basically a grandpa car with a hot 350.All manual everything and no one was interested in that at the time, plus got 6MPG and never ran right.Uncle worked at an Olds dealer and it was a trade-in.Had it for a week, and my brother’s friend wrecked it.Bought a 1969 Galaxie with the money he gave me,that car was a tank and went through everything including gas yay

He explained the loophole with no open containers in the boat. He said the trick was to sink your can as soon as you were done and then you would never have an open container. He smiled and said, “drink em and sink em, it’s the Canadian way”.

It’s not a loop hole, it’s called littering. And it’s not funny.

Is it littering if you don’t get caught?Keeping the cans is denying hidey-holes for bottom dwelling critters. On the ‘Sippi, those items may get you the Holy Grail of walleye bait, willowcats.

Years ago,a guy I fish with got pulled over in KY for flickering taillights. When the LEO walked-up to vehicle,he flashed the light at the back seat and seen some empty cans from a few weeks prior, and asked him if he was drinking beer. There were quite a few cans, and buddy did pass field test. But LEO wasn’t convinced and popped a breathalyzer test and was just over legal limit.I told him to never leave empties in vehicle, chug and chuck them.Aluminum pickers appreciate them.

Thanks Iowaboy,I haven’t owned those brands in many years. The thing with lifepo4 batteries is how they handle charging current.A call to the seller would be in order, that’s what I did before plunking down the cash. The cheaper ones will cause problems when used for starting, they can’t handle charging voltage and will shut off. It’s how the BMS is programmed.

Also when using them in cold weather,it helps to cycle the trim/tilt before cranking for faster starts.Again, the better batteries handle cold charging better and will not shut off or get destroyed.Heated are best option for sub 32F temps.

No One Goes On Pool #3 this Time of Year!

Here’s a link to my experience with a Wilcraft. My only real concern is deep fluffy snow. It’s not a snowmobile.

EXT with skies would do well in snow,I see those have huge rear tires.I have never seen one in person, nor have I ever seen one used for sale.If I ever rode in one,I’d be short on 32K plus trailer cost!Airboats are not cheap, and they are thirsty, loud and cold. And an airboat will break bad ice before a Wilcraft will. And a guy on the river years ago hit bad ice with an airboat and dunked it and drowned.

I’d put my money towards a Wilcraft before an airboat, everything is self-contained.Just drive off trailer with everything and never have to leave it while fishing.

Red Eye, what brand and HP of motor are you running?
The reason I ask if it is an older one, say pre 2005 the stator type charging systems are not designed to nor will they charge a lithium battery.
They wont charge a maintenance free or AGM battery either.

I don’t get it,I ran an AGM battery with my Yamaha 50 2-stroke for 14 years without an issue. Currently running a Lifepo4 battery with a Honda 50,now going on year 4.Using a battery qualified for cranking(LBP/Ionic).

A friend cut strips from a plastic 55gal barrel, then drilled and screwed em down with stainless machine screws. Basically ended up with the same concept as Hyfax, with a little less expense and 10X the work.

There are oodles of plastic barrels waiting to be discovered on the ‘sippi.Black, white and blue choose your color.

The stainless steel bars I put over the cheap clam runners work perfect, pulls much easier.Burred-up plastic creates drag.
