We are finally finally getting some good rain! Looks like Mille Lacs is getting it too!

I don’t have a gauge but we received a fair amount yesterday with a steady heavy rain. Still getting a bit this morning.

Is Vidas good for a tandem bunk to launch? I heard Frontier is a no go, Birchdale is good. Headed up in the morning.

I don’t quite understand the thought of travelling states away and getting a hotel room for 4 minutes of something that might be hindered out by clouds. But then again, that’s just me.

It sounds like the full eclipse path may be almost entirely blocked out by clouds too. hah

I believe some have traveled to Vegas for “4 minutes of something”

Pushed our trip back as well. This is the first time in 20+ years we have had to delay due to a RE-FREEZE.

Beachside posted a new report this morning, nothing new just an update. Still a dozen or so shacks outside 1/2 Moon. As John stated good ice down here. We’ll see what this weeks weather brings.

Anybody know who bought Izatys ? I seen it sold last month for around $4.2m… seems it would be way more that that but.. location is everything I guess.

I heard they are local, not sure if that means this area or this state??

I don’t think a launch has gone out since the vid. Those ole boats are stacked up in the woods and wouldn’t pass an inspect IMO. I preferred the old Eddy’s.

Couple skids just inside 1/2 moon island,Wahkon bay this morning.
A non-hub quite aways out, cant make out how big it is. Looks like the surface of the moon out past the islands using the glasses.

I believe Beachside posted they are expanding their road.

I did not troll this fall, but yes I do. I was at my fishing buddy’s daughter’s wedding on Saturday and it was mentioned more than once how nice it was. My current remodel project made me put the boat away early but jumped in the neighbors boat last couple times.

39.3 this morning on the south side. Picked up a couple walleye but much slower than the previous couple days. Think that’s a wrap for this year.

Was out for a bit Friday afternoon, smallies cooperated on the south end. Saturday was a no go down here, Sunday was in the field. Might give it a try this afternoon and then pull the boat but wont tuck it away quite yet.

I don’t know a lot about duck hunting on the lake but am thinking about doing some next season.

She’s wet and blustery up here today. Heard some shooting from the lake just before sunrise, thought of my younger years sitting out in that crap.
We have gained some water in the last month but still way down.

Elk River DMV has got to be in the top 5 grumpiest… New Brighton DMV is awesome, very nice and helpful people. I lived in ER and worked in New Brighton, guess who got my business.

I should’ve noted I’m now in Wahkon Mn. I know different areas have different issues, some network negotiations etc.

I have multiple hunting buddies with dogs out of Sand Creek Kennels.
All are great hunting/family dogs. My 2 cents – I prefer British over American if your main hunt is upland/field. I worked as a guide at a game farm and loved a Brit that would point and was a natural retriever.

Water levels are back up from last fall, I see rigs at Cove Bay access every time I drive by. I know there has been hatches but I haven’t experienced them yet.
Evening bite on the gravel has been good to me but will start playing in the mud soon.

Fished last night, 6-9:30. Did well with smaller fish early and larger fish moving in as the evening progressed. I’ve been having good luck in 28′ since Memorial weekend. Lots of HS grad stuff going on so outings will be sporadic through June.

Will be up at the shack on Mille Lacs. Wind, weather, and pre-game activities will be the deciding factor of start time.
