sounds like the ground wire to the off switch is not connected

when used it was up by the dam maybe just turbulance turned the paper mostly black–thanks for the reply

definitely the hub has been spun-in other words the drive shaft is turning the splined shaft inside the rubber hub insert–not a high dollar fix–in Cedar Falls iowa you can get a hold of gene at the prop shop–snagged

had this problem–it was a tilt trailer and the hinge pin was rusted up –no ground –fixed the pin and good to go==good kuck

a squirt of wd 40 on the starter shaft above the bendix will cure the problem–does for me everytime–good luck
