Smoke them, make jerky and pepper sticks, make them into hamburgers on grill, in crockpot like pulled pork. Personally I think they are better than Canada goose to eat.
The tarsal bands were all same location in Nanauvaut Canada. Last reward band I got was about 20 years ago n a wood duck I think they did away with that though.
I should note 1 of the bands was from Canada and the other from Iowa.
Not normal but I got 1 a few years back with 3 bands ,2 tarsal bands and 1 metal leg band.
Been hunting them the last 4 weeks in SD, juvies are now mixing in. The push north is been strong the last few days.
Got a temporary tarp on now until snow subsides a bit. Grouse let me know how it turns out that is exactly my plans on mine as well.
Yeah that was what I was thinking so seeing if anybody had a real life experience with it. Placing a canvas cover on every year is getting old.
Just had my canvas top rip off in wind on my shelterlogic. Anyone ever tried a more permanent Solution like corrugated sheet metal?
Just got big house out for 1st time this year west metro about 18 inches of ice and no slush. Hoping for a big night

Yeah tries them for first time not bad for the workhow did you stuff them? Thinking about getting a stuffer of some sort. My wife tried piping them but it was too thick.
By hand that was the worst part of them. I didn’t cook the manicotti first and let them set for 4 hours and the bacon made them soft
I made BBQ Shotgun shells on the smoker Sunday. They were good, but not sure worth all the hassle preparing them.
Yeah tries them for first time not bad for the work
Anyone have a 2 stage Ego? Been looking at those for the berms left by snowplow.
Every other time for me. I just exit out and re-enter and then I’m logged in.
Lake by Hutchinson had around 12 inches of ice with slush pockets deep as 5 inches. 50/50 on people driving vs walking
Roger’s Sporting goods has the alphaburly for 109 or 99 bucks depending on what color you choose.
My alphaburlys did the same crack after almost a year and were covered under warranty. I have cheaper itascas the crack at the same spot after awhile and the goop only lasts so long if u do any amount of walking in weeds, cattails debris etc.
Yeah thought about that as well but on skirt froze in once and my buddy after a big night drinking decided to use a ice chisel and chipped a few small holes in one of them.
Well I went pheasant hunting this afternoon in the fresh snow for the first time this season. Raised about 25 at the first spot and dumped a rooster. Unfortunately the spurs cut my dogs leg pretty bad so the hunt finished there. They put surgical staples in and cleaned it up at the vet. She has to take some pills for a while and no walks or hunting for 10-14 days.
Had same thing happen to my dog 2 years ago, after 2 weeks of getting better she was fine and and within 20 minutes of getting her staples out we got our 3 bird limit.

We go 1 hour early, at most, if we really want a specific spotWell, this was the busiest I ever remember so make it 2 hours now.
Even then it will not stop most, if they want to hunt it they will hunt it, its public as a guy told me Saturday.
Water levels down significantly, lots of bigger ducks seen. Could not tell you about wild rice except it’s good in soup with pheasant.
The river fishing for salmon is a bit different then what you are used too probably. Flossing for those salmon can be a challenge. The halibut fishing is awesome bring a rain coat.
My old neighbor lady told me about no mow may, told me not to mow my lawn because she isn’t. The next day I get home from work and she’s mowing. Now I have no choice but to mow.
