They were a great motor. Unfortunatly You may have trouble getting parts. Mariner is now only sold in european markets. Finding any former dealers with parts on the shelves may be tough.

Good luck this weekend. The river is high and dirty. Water is up in the trees and you are post spawn. Going to be a tough nut to crack.
March 28, 2014 at 2:09 pm #1400101My wife says that “All men are idiots and she married the king”. I say, “Every king has to have a queen”.
March 24, 2014 at 10:01 am #1398788Guess I should have paid more attention to what color you were buying. Nice fish though.

August 9, 2013 at 1:16 pm #1188710It,s gotten to the point where fishing wingdams, in clinton, is take a number and wait. On the weekend you have to leave the river by 10 or 11am because of all the boat traffic. Cabin cruisers will rock you right out of the boat. If you want too find wingdams that don’t get as much pressure you have to go down river or up to Savanna.
July 23, 2013 at 1:25 pm #1185039Been getting quite a few walleyes fishing clambeds and wingdams. Also caught some down in the sand pits. Had too leave the pits early, too many pleasure boats but the walleyes are there.
July 15, 2013 at 1:39 pm #1183501We fished pool 14 Sat. Had 13 fish. 4 over 20″ 4 shorts. Same deal, they wanted it fast. Weeds are starting to become a factor now. Dropping water is pulling the weeds out of the backwaters. Big Wally Divers were the ticket.
May 17, 2013 at 11:42 am #1171572The secret is SLOW and LOW. Temps of 230 to 240 for a long time. And a Texas crutch always helps.
March 27, 2013 at 1:38 pm #1156541There is a group there right now. His name is Chad and he runs a big red ranger. He may be able to give you some info. If you would have posted this last week, he probably could have brought some with him.
March 22, 2013 at 5:53 pm #1155169Hey, my wife tells me that all men are idiots and she married the king. So I tell her that every king needs a queen, so what does that make her!!! And as for asking dumb questions, my dad used too say that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Only bad answers!
March 13, 2013 at 1:58 pm #1151547No, he wasn’t drunk. Either he was full of himself, or just doesn’t give a damn. You should have let the air out of one of his tires.

November 4, 2012 at 9:04 am #1109491I’ve been fishing the river for over 50 years and only recall seeing a trout caught one other time and that was a rainbow. But what I have found is that the Mississippi is like a box of chocolate, “You never know what you gonna get”.
October 29, 2012 at 1:25 pm #1108154Jig Fan is right. I have been having no problem getting my limits of 15 to 20 inchers. Some days are slower than others but the push is on. Just ask Fishbait, he knows how good the fishing has been. Every year we have to deal with the grass or high dirty water. I’m likin this low clear water. The Saugers are on the move and the big Walleyes are hungry. I start my vacation next week and I can’t wait. See you out there!!!!!
October 1, 2012 at 2:08 pm #1102231I’ll bet he thought he had the granddaddy walleye. Good job, nice fish.
