IMO a part of it is the parents wanting change and something “better”. The basic ways of teaching math, reading etc shouldn’t need to change. It worked for generation upon generation. Now they need to come up with “new” ways to teach it because it needs to be “better”.
I’m also of the belief that open enrollment has been a huge detriment to our education system. Schools are now more worried about having lots of shiny new toys and college level athletic facilities to draw in kids/parents fro.. outside their district because more kids equals more money. Schools need to go back to being block buildings with basic classrooms. They don’t need top flight weight rooms, padded indoor tracks, flat screen tvs every 20 feet etc.

I also would like to see numbers from pre COVID for these same districts.

If the suspect arrested and charged for these murders is convicted in a court of law he should be punished to life in prison without possibility of parole.

If he is convicted and found guilty of these murders, He should be taken out and Hung by the neck till dead on the courthouse Lawn. If there was more of This, then there would be far less of THIS
Why should tax payers pay a single $.01 to keep anyone locked up for a lifetime in Jail. Total waste of $ and space.

You are aware of the number of people wrongfully convicted of crimes such as this are you not? Especially crimes with immense public outcry for someone to blame.
I will be against the death penalty until that is rectified. But that’s a different issue
My other comments stand. I don’t see how the same people who tell everyone how corrupt government is, the FBI is, law enforcement is, the media is etc etc etc are just fine convicting someone in the court of public opinion instead of waiting and allowing justice to run its course. Just something I’m tiring of in this country. If the FBI is so corrupt it thinks it can do illegal things to try and falsely incriminate a sitting President why would the same people think they’d never do such a thing to a Joe Nobody?

Funny how the “Media” is such an issue for so many, they are corrupt, “fake news” etc yet so many are quick to do away with innocent until proven guilty based on nothing more than media reports, or even worse how someone looks.
If the suspect arrested and charged for these murders is convicted in a court of law he should be punished to life in prison without possibility of parole. Until such time it’s wise to remember our Constitution provides for a presumption of innocence. Sad how being charged with a crime these days instantly turns into a person being declared guilty on social media. Especially since it often comes from the same crowd also telling everyone how corrupt and evil government is.

The US has indeed exported slighlty more oil than imported in 2020 and 2021.

The big thing is the US (for the most part) is now in balance … importing and exporting about the same.

About 70% of US imports come from Canada (majority) and Mexico.

Much of the exported US oil originates out of Alaska. It is easier for that oil to go to Asia that US refineries (except those on the west coast).

If memory serves me right the biggest reason “we” export oil while also importing oil is that US refineries aren’t set up to process the kind of crude that’s produced here.

Depending on why it was condemned, and how much confidence you have in the person that diagnosed it , I would get a second opinion on that first . If its older with ac of the same vintage , get a quote on it all

X100. One hour is not the most trustworthy in my book. All of the big franchises do a lot of “extra” sales. 2nd opinion is a must

X100000…..I know a couple HVAC guys that quit one hour over the pressure to up sell customers and to convince them they need a replacement when what they have could be fixed. From what I’ve been told they even hold “classes” to train mechanics to be salesmen.
I’d always get AT LEAST 2 places to look at it and would highly recommend NEITHER is One Hour.

I get what you are saying and agree for the most part….BUT if we all just ignored this stuff what happens? IMO it’s time all of us start finding the intestinal fortitude to relearn how to respectfully disagree with one another on issues we don’t see eye to eye on and find a unified voice on everything we do.
Otherwise what we leave behind us won’t see regular Joe working class folks living in a place where they can enjoy the outdoor recreation we all find solace in.

    Wise words Randy.

May I add when any of us begin feeling like that, try to think about and focus on all the things we have in common with each other, the ways we are connected to one another instead of focusing on the things we believe divide us. 99% of us want mostly the same things out of life, whether we agree on the path that will lead there or not.

I haven’t used it personally but have family and friends who have. From anything I’ve heard it was a smooth process and worked well for them. But they also didn’t encounter any “emergencies”, such as engine trouble, accident etc. That’s always been my biggest concern with trying it. If misfortune arises with a regular rental car they have to get me a replacement car sent out and I continue on my trip. With a private party rental I’m guessing a guy is stuck trying to make other arrangements mid trip.

I usually find the best rental rates on rentalcars.com….but when I find something that looks like what we need I always double check what the price would be to book direct through whatever company.

Here is another if you need to see before and after Brent.. Pretty easy to look these up and see what you do or do not want to believe as biased. As I said there are many other live feeds from all angles if you want to hop on youtube and research for yourself.

    <div class=”ido-oembed-wrap”><iframe loading=”lazy” title=”Ottawa Elderly Disabled Mohawk Woman Candice Sero TRAMPLED by Police Horses” width=”850″ height=”478″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/AsN-5EFM2FU?feature=oembed&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen=””></iframe></div>

Ok it played this time when I tried… previously it wanted me to sign in to YouTube to view. Wasn’t signing up or into anything to watch it.

I still didn’t see anything that wasn’t in your other videos. I would feel pretty confident in betting that prior to those horses riding in, as are often used for crowd control, an order to disperse was given. If so and those people chose to stay I have a hard time seeing the difference in that and what happens to others who fail to comply with law enforcement. I’m tired of rules changing or being applied differently depending on who is doing what, or whether one agrees or disagrees with what they stand for. Wish we could find our way back to a time when a man stood for what he stood for, didn’t need to check whether it meant they were on the right or left of whatever issue. When they were solid in their own beliefs instead of following the “team”.

Question for you….what are your thoughts about the journalists were assaulted and or arrested by MPD and MSP during the Floyd protests here in the twin cities?

I’m still not understanding the correlation between a difference in a person’s tax filings and build back better.

As far as this years Tax Brackets go you may be correct. Although as Randy pointed out there are other ways to increase taxes than through simple tax brackets. With the amount of spending being done under ” Build back better ” one of two things is GOING to happen. Either taxes will need to be raised ( Most likely on Business’s and Middle Income groups ) or the national debt will go up at a crazy alarming rate. Now if you are fine with Leaving future generations having to pay off debt that this Generation racked up, or if your not in a income group who will be effected by higher taxes in the near future, I can see where you think ” Build back Better ” spending is a Great thing.

I do my own taxes every year….. I was anticipating a bigger hit this year.

We decided to take the advancement of the child tax credit. I figured it would just diminish my refund or increase my payment in. So we just took the checks and deposited them and waited for taxes to come due.

I am pretty sure the advancement was 1/12th of the original $2000 tax credit per child. (not the $3600/$3000 new credit available this year). We received a total of $2000 in checks (2 kids over 5 yo) from this “benefit”. After finishing my taxes, we owe that $2000 back plus $900 which is typical from the past couple years.

If your Joint return’s AGI was less then $150K, you would have received an additional $1600 (kids under 5) and $1000 (kids 5 and over). Which is new this year and could explain why Crappie received more than normal.

I’m not sure what to think of B-Man’s scenario……. possible changes in taxes to small/personal business as Randy suggested?

In the end, for my family, this year was the same as the last couple.

The biggest factor (from a negative standpoint) for my taxes in the past few years came under Trump. Under Itemized deductions they capped how much State Income and Property taxes I could claim and this alone reduced my refund by approximately $1000. For folks who take the Standard Deduction, the Trump plan was great, for those who Itemize not so much.

    my 2 cents anyway.

X2 on getting hit harder with the changes on deducting state income tax and property tax as well as union dues for me.

^If I were to grade the foreign relations component of the job of Presidency between Orange Creep and Senile Uncle Joe…I’d hand out x2 F’s. They both had/have plenty of issues that they couldn’t handle. Quit comparing them. Two turds no matter the size – both stink.

Neither of the two of them would walk across the street to help any IDO posters with a damn thing unprovoked either. People need to quit acting like they (and all politicians) give a $hit about people like us.

I agree 10000%…I guess I’m just of the belief that if no one challenges a person’s opinions or position on an issue they have zero reason to reflect on that opinion or position.

Now having the intestinal fortitude to actually engage in such self reflection is probably hoping for to much I’m sure.

Brent, what happened before the “trampling”. I am just curious to what you are referring to?
There is video of the whole thing from about a dozen live feeds so not much is missing. I am not sure what happened before this so wanted to ask?

I haven’t watched any video other than the two YouTube clips you posted. They seemed to have very little video, and what video there was wasn’t shot by the “reporter” commenting from their basement. I was simply commenting on why that isn’t viewed as biased as well. It’s also a common comment from a certain “side” anytime video is used….but but but what happened before the video started rolling. It’s a question that same “side” conveniently never asks in incidents like this.

I see Putin undermining the leadership of Ukraine and there economy. End result, they get a foot hold just like Crimea . Sanctions of the oligarchs surrounding Putin , well time will tell .

We can’t let putin do anything to Ukraine. It would be bad for hunters bank account.
Putin doesn’t need to win the war, his interest is strong arming them and pushing power. That comes down to who’s power is greater.

Hmmm that could certainly be..or perhaps the revelation that the accounting firm used for “independent” financial statements from the Trump family and businesses saying the past 10 years of statements can’t be trusted caused Putin to start this up hoping to distract many from looking into where Trump’s funding really comes from…

Might as well feed the conspiracy. Behind most accusations is usually some level of truth. So what is Bidens real ties to Ukraine and why is Putin pushing that button now?

Feed it all you want….it’s one of the things that makes me try and laugh but just can’t. Kind of like “lock her up”!
Guess I’m just a guy that believes in put up or shut up at some point. Instead these conspiracies Fred off of this….lack of real proof and legal proceedings somehow just confirms the depth and power of whatever conspiracy.

And I’m someone that fully believes our government engaged in a wide range of “conspiracies”. Just don’t see them hiding behind every tree nor being plotted by one party or political demographic.

I think a friend summed it up best…politics is professional wrestling…they act the part, go by the script…and then ride together to grab a beer after the show while they count our money.

The US can’t afford not to be the lead dog for NATO. We will pump billions into the region in addition to troops. If it goes beyond 30 days I could see 100,000 troops being sent in. It would be a combination of NATO along with the US.

As mentioned Putins been spoiling for a fight for quite a while. However he couldn’t do much with Trump because he wasn’t sure how crazy Trump was. He knew he couldn’t bully Trump because Trump has always been the bully in the room.

Anything short of 100% sanctions won’t be enough of a detriment to slow Putin down. Next 2 weeks will tell the tale. Hang onto your hat.

IMO Putin learned watching how the US “defeated” the USSR….by bankrupting them via the arms race/military spending. I think his plan may be to do the same to the US. And it won’t take much….

Fear of Biden jester jester jester jester jester

Best laugh I’ve had today. Putin has been testing American war tactics big time since Obama took office. It slowed during Trump, but still continued. The day Biden took office there were Russian aircrafts in our airspace.

Don’t be fooled. Putin has studied us more than most can realize. The only fear Putin has is the unknown of who will jump in if NAT9 takes action. Besides wanting the territory back of the Soviet Union, Putin knows If Ukraine joins NATO, we could have a base located on his border.

Watch close, Putin has been using Hitlers play book

Sad thing is this…. Putin invades and Biden does nothing he’s a certain type of willow acting weak…if he lets it draw the US into another armed conflict/”war” he’s a “globalist” and using a war to “deflect from his failures”.

Kind of like the way Trump was heralded for paying lip service on getting the US out of Afghanistan, yet when Biden finally recognized there was no clean withdrawal to be had and cut the cord he was a weak failure.

Cripes, revisionist history on the right has Democrats pushing the invasion of Iraq, when the truth is anything but.

And before anyone else wants to paint me of one political ilk or affiliation I’d say the exact same if a Republican was in office.

I’m just increasingly saddened by the loss of base values in so many of our citizenry. Now “values” flip and flop according to the position one needs to play to stay on the “team”.

(While I may have quoted Randy my comments are NOT directed at any individual overall. Just observations of the world and country I find myself living in.)

Looked like a terrible mistake to me. All they have to do is just comply and no one gets hurt.

But see these are “Patriots” standing up to a “tyrannical” government, so they do not need to just blindly comply with those in power as other demographics are supposed to do.

It’s amazing the hypocrisy of some commentators. You can have an organized union (I am not necessarily anti-union), let’s say go on strike at the largest meat company and could basically wipe the shelves clean for millions of citizens, and will support them to the tenth degree – but when another group, such as these truckers do what they are doing and goes against their views or agenda – oh the evilness… Anyone else see the hypocrisy??

And that’s not even touching on the hypocrisy already exposed between some commenters position on these protesters and the ones that shut down freeways here in the Twin Cities after the Floyd deal. Literally posting pics of water cannons, bulldozers and even mushroom clouds when discussing how to remove the “scum”.

And IMO the hypocrisy goes both ways. Another poster commented about the recent strike at the refinery in St Paul Park. I guarantee many of the folks on here so in support of these truckers would be singing a very different tune if those striking workers had marched out and shut down 494 and 61 in both directions for a few weeks. Heck I bet the Guard would have been brought in within days to forcibly remove them. Kind of like they did in Austin in ’86 when those striking workers dared to try blocking a PUBLIC ROADWAY.
