Are you considering changing your name to Gitchi Gummies?

Congratulations! I’ve never seen a floor covered with walleyes. Very cool.

When I look at this graph the default is one week. At one time you could change the settings to have the forecast be 2 weeks, etc. I can’t figure out how to change the settings. Does anyone know how to change the settings?

I have used both the 25 and 30 for many years. I like the 25 more than the 30. There is not a big difference. The 25 just seems more balanced. I use them on 7 foot, medium/light rods.

Drove through SW MN last week. Very dry conditions. Some swamps and creeks were dry. Most of the beans were harvested and about 1/2 the corn. There were more crops in the field as you got closer to Albert Lea.

Does anyone ever try livescope aimed at a rapala being trolled? Maybe with the long range you could see the fish react to the lure.

We were on Lac Seul last week. Walleye fishing was very good. We had 5 days of SE wind. The fish were stacked on the points that were hit by the wind. There is a good year class of 24″ to 26″ fish. Plenty of eaters. Jig and a minnow could not be beat. Tried Jigging Raps, all sorts of plastics, just didn’t work as good as a jig and minnow. The detour was a gravel road. Not too bad, couple of big potholes. They were working (hauling gravel) on the detour on our way home.

For those heading to Ear Falls or Red Lake this week, the resort we are staying at on Lac Seul just notified us that there is a detour out of Vermilion Bay that is vey confusing and not well marked. There is a detour of 105 heading north because of flooding. Attached is the detour.

Watch from those trees (more so the ones just underwater).

Great heads up^^^^. There are a lot of trees in the river at this time. I was looking for them yesterday and still managed to hit one pretty hard. Also had a sturgeon jump and hit the side of the boat. It might of hit the bowmount blades 1st. Not sure what happened but it got both dogs excited.

It is not the 1st time a dead turkey got up and ran away. Technically I do not believe you have to use your tag.

James Holst and Dustin Stewart discuss this very issue in good detail in an old video…something to do with “dog days walleyes on wing dams”, not sure the exact title. Anyway, I utilize the tactic successfully quite a bit on the upper Croix whenever I see the tubers blowing up-current!

Around 11 minutes in gets you how to use the drift sock. They actually use a waterspike and rope. Probably pre spot lock.

They are tricky critters. I would put the blind in the middle of the field and hide next to a tree on the edge. grin

I have stayed at Crawford’s, but it looks like you are looking for a place like Totem’s on LOW. I have always heard good things about Totem’s and Yellowbird. You can usually find a place to fish out of the wind. The 16.5″ shouldn’t be a problem. This area is in Ontario.

I like the “go big baits” idea. Only open water 15″ crappie I have caught in MN was bass fishing with a 4″ paddle tail. Right now is a good time of year to head to Lake Greeson in Arkansas. They have the 15″ plus crapppies you are looking for.

You can troll the head of the lake. There is a lot of debris in the water. I tried it the other day and came up with 0 fish and had to clean the lines of debris every 5 minutes.

The dock at Covill was put in this morning by the city. The guys from the city said they were putting the dock in at Baypoint Monday. They could put the dock in even if it is not totally open.

You can not go wrong fishing a jig and a minnow. Go with as light a jig as you can. Lac Seul is one of the easiest lakes to catch walleyes that I have fished. Will be up there 1st week of June. Great place to catch a lot of fish. Plus the lake has not been fished hard the last 2 years with the border closed.

I use the recipe listed below. 1st I fillet the breast off keeping the 2 sides connected. It is kind of tricky around the breast bone. I use my fish fillet knife. Place the cheese in the middle and pin the whole thing together with tooth picks. It ends up having 3 sides. I saute all 3 sides. It is a bit of extra work but folks that don’t care for wild game eat it up.

Both of the Grade 6 Citori shotguns in that auction have 12,20,28 and 410 barrels included. That changes the value significantly, IMO.

If the gun has 12,20,28 and 410 barrels, I would bet it is a skeet gun set. All the barrels are choked for skeet.

I was there the month of January last year. January is not the best time to find redear sunfish. We would find them in 30 to 40 FOW. Would only find a couple fish at each spot. They were nice fish when you found them. I rented a slip at the marina for the month. The weather was fantastic. The fishing was very slow. I was told by several people the fishing is better in March.

Lake Havasu yields another redear sunfish of world-record size

I believe you can IF you do not touch canadian soil, anchor? or hook up with someone else? same at the angle

We just booked NW Angle for September. Was told by the folks at Sportsman’s that we can fish Canadian waters with Ontario fishing license and did not need RABC. The rules shefland list exist. We have been able to do the same thing fishing the North Arm of Rainy for the last few years. Years ago we needed the RABC, but that has not been true for a while.
