What I think and hope will change is the dependency on China for a lot of goods that will be reclassified as national security risks. medical supplies, drugs and med equip should be the tip of the iceberg. Which should lead to manufacturing returning to USA.
I also think we will see more tariffs on China with no mercy from Trump.
Maybe legislation to allow the Gov agencies to buy american.

Some great posts, some samo samo stuff but a couple of hours of free entertainment for me.
Be safe hope all come thru this

They just closed the gates on the Chippewa River here in Chippewa Falls river was way up for the last two weeks. So I’m assuming the normal winter draw down of some of the northern flowages might be a problem because WI. does have allot of snow up north so I’m thinking the Chip will be providing a large amount this spring even without anymore added in the future.
As far as fishing high waters usually mean better than average spawning unless
you have a sudden drop that leaves eggs high and dry.
Last time I fished high waters was fishing in trees 5 foot of water over what was an island the only thing you could see of the dam was the tops of pillars, the lund 1775 handled water fine but still very nervous running the river.
Catching 5 to 7lb mississippi eyes on a short line was awesome!!!!

Grew up in Minnesota now live in Wi Use the three lines as a tool to pattern fish
when I fished in minn with one line I kept most fish I caught. Now I seem to catch more keep less much more enjoyable. I guess I don’t see the difference even if you keep allowed limits, what does it matter if you keep a limit caught on one pole or two it’s still one limit? Chippman

Numerous towns in western wisconsin have all customers running a pencil thin line of water from a faucet in there homes and businesses until further notice. (weau.com has info) They are adjusting water bills. Chippewa Falls has not yet done that but have their big welder die thawing mains. They have had main breaks and I heve seen the welder hooked up in diferent locations. They advise to check faucet closest to the supply line and check temp if its close to 32degrees run water 24/7. I guess I would rather pay a little more sewer /water than a service call that lasts who knows how long. Chippman

Randy my uncle an avid golfer had both knees replaced at the same time, he is the go get them type. He went from fighting pain to do a couple of round of golf a week to 18 holes a day and loveing life. He gave up elk hunting years ago he lives in denver and at late sixties is think of trying it again. With the aggressive rehab most Dr’s are using i.e he was up and started walking the day after surgery and he said the pain was less intense than his everyday pain of walking. So he recomends both. Good Luck

My best memories are when the Minnesota River south of Fairfax took over our home and we had to live with Grandma for a couple of weeks the as water receeded we would walk across my dads footbridge and up over the granite rock formation to the house. Then the fun began fishing of the front porch and following the water as it went down fishing, ducks and mud everywhere awesome childhood and the wife wonders why I am redneck and proud of it.!!!!Chippman

For the newbees make sure you carry the shrooms in an open bag mesh onion or orange bags work great.
The reason being mushroom propagate by spores so as you walk around with the open bag you seed the coming years crops of goodness. you can seed new areas this way to. Chippman

I agree it just seems the simpler the better, Ive had the most luck with small jigs plain with bait. I kill the eyes on ring worms on other waters (leech, Mississippi etc but I have only caught two on Wissota.
Talking to the FLW eye guys after tourney the top teams used lindy rigs and slow death crawler rigs to catch 50plus fish a day.
I have also had good luck trolling small minnow baits on shallow flats early in the year. Chippman

    Wi Regs
Under wi/mn boundary water forth restriction down, wi res needs wi lic and mn res needs mn lic. Residents of other states need one from either state. Regulations may differ between states, you must obey the reg of the state in which you are fishing, so do I pull a line when I get half way across. (Come on Man) Way to much grey area, does that last line apply only to other state residents ( I beleive it does) or all!!!!!!
This crap is way more confusing than it needs to be, they need to hire someone with a degree in common sense to proof read this crap!!!

If you fish smaller lakes with rocky landings etc I would lean towards alum same if you fish lakes with stumps and much safer in alum, lighter in weight only drawback I see is alum is noisier than glass. If you can afford it get a lund but I have fished out of alumcraft, smokercraft, northwoods and lunds and the best for me was an 18ft 1983 lund mr pike, for all around fishing the semi-vee hull was more comfortable but still brought me home dry in four foot rollers/50mph winds on the Chippewa flowage. it had a 75hp on it. if you go with a 16ft you can get away with a 50hp.
Just for safty I would try to find a boat powered around the 50 to 75% of hp rating you made need the power when the weather kicks up. Ron Good hunting

Slot on the Chippewa (Lake Wissota) seems to have done a good job the FLW walleye boys were sure frustrated with catching 30 fish a day mostly sloters, and not being able to bring a limit to the weigh in tough decision to keep 13inchers (slot 14 to 18 one over)or hold out for a big one. definatly tough on the tournaments they tried to get the slot suspeneded for the tourney for research purposes but no luck with wdnr.

But now that it’s been in effect for over 10 years I think they should raise the size structure (16 to 24) sounds nice would like to see a minimum size also but we know how flexible the DNR is!!!!! Chippman
