I use a Grumman Sportboart for exactly what you’re talking about. Our family uses it A LOT (way more than the bigger boat collecting dust in the garage).

Very versatile, 6HP on the back it will go 17mph. 14mph with all of us in it. I can drag it myself and 2 people can put it on top of a vehicle.

I’ve sold quite a few guns on GunBroker, it’s pretty straightforward

    List them yourself?

I’ve got a couple Halo collars for my two dogs – they work very well. I’ve had them for a couple years. One is an older version and one newer. The battery life on the newer version is better.

My only complaint is that you cannot provide immediate correction via the app (it takes a couple seconds to make it to the collar – not to mention opening the app etc).

    I’d buy them again.

I believe that any gun that has a detachable magazine forces you to do a transfer form which I was told might take weeks to get back.

    Also this scares me-

Sec. 17. [624.7137] PURCHASE OR TRANSFER OF MORE THAN ONE FIREARM
    PER 30 DAYS PROHIBITED.
Subdivision 1. Gross misdemeanor. (a) A person who purchases or accepts the transfer
of more than one firearm within a 30-day period is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.

    Where are you seeing this?

Awesome! After owning several ‘big’ boats I’ve had more fun the past few years getting into some real remote spots with mine.

Also curious on your outrigger setup.

Pete did you pull out the center seat in yours ?

No. All original. The only thing added is a lip on the back of the bottom. I’m not sure if that helps it plane out/ride flatter or what. It was there when I got it.

I bought a case of 410 from Cabelas last week, I had to do the ‘ship to store’ though. Stupid expensive though.

I just went through this. I had a pair purchased in 2016, they warrantied the frame in 2020 without issue. Last week I broke one of the lenses (my fault) – looked to get the lenses replaced but unfortunately I was told it was discontinued. They provided me with a 50% off coupon code and free ship.

Considering I broke the lens and was willing/planning to pay for replacement – I was happy with the discount.

The solution I have found much cheeper than a camper and just as if not more comfortable. A 10×14 Kodiak canvas tent, an XL cot, twin air mattress and a good sleeping bag. Fold up table on the other side to eat at and I have a small tv. There are several campground that leave the electricity on.

just purchased a 10×12 wall tent, wood stove, and bunk bed cot system to serve as my basecamp for hunting season and extended camping trips in cold weather. Looking forward to using this setup.

My only concern is when it rains ill need to find a way to dry out the tent when i get home. I dont have that large of a garage or basement so could be a pain to figure out but other than that i think it will be fun and comfortable

I’ve got a Jumping Jack trailer, the 6×8 model which turns into an 8×12 canvas tent you can walk around in. You’re off the ground and you can have it set up in about 5-10min max. What I really like about it is that I can put my Ranger on top of it, unload the ranger, hook the trailer to the Ranger and really go wherever you want. Far more tent than camper but we just sleep in it or play cards if it’s raining. I don’t have many good pictures but you can google it – they’re kind of unique.

I had the same truck, 2014 w/ 132k on it when my oil pump grenaded. I guess I was fortunate as I noticed it coming for a week or so (oil pressure was about 5psi lower than normally at idle and under power). When my finally went it dropped oil pressure completely.

I’m a little confused how could have drove it there with a blown oil pump. The dummy lights blew up on my dash when it happened.

I replaced to oil pump and shortly after the torque converter was giving me issues (not to mention the brake booster that about put my truck and boat in the drink – later recalled).

I traded it in on an older truck – no issues so far…

I liked many things about the truck but it was a money pit. So many little things and issues that added up costing me lots of money. I’m convinced that era truck was designed while GM was in bankruptcy and I’m guessing quality was cut in many areas to save on cost. Just a guess…

To Pete again, regarding the extractor, do you think it’s worth ordering one for the spare parts kit?

I wouldn’t worry about it – I’m sure mine was from added stress over time. I always stuck a shell in the receiver in the middle of hunts to show it’s visibly safe while still having shell in the mag – I’m sure it put added stress on that piece.

    Hi Grouse,

I’ve owned multiple Tri-Star’s and still own many different Beretta and Benelli auto’s in both 20 and 12g. I owned a viper G2 20g which shares the same mech to the one you’re talking about and a close friend owns the exact one your talking about.

The Tri-star for your use case here will work perfect. It’s soft shooting and I found them to be quite reliable. I will say I broke different pieces of the bolt on my 20g G2 (extractor one time and the locking bar inside the bolt another). Both of those were after thousands of 7/8 trap load rounds and both times it was pheasant hunting w/ 3″ 1 1/4″ heavy loads. Both times Tri-Star sent me replacement parts fast, no questions asked, and for free (I believe they were out of Kansas).

If you go into the purchase understanding you’re not purchasing a Benelli or Beretta auto, you’ll be very happy. No it doesn’t have a cole trigger like you may see in a high end Beretta or the pure reliability of a Benelli – but the price reflects that. TBH, I’ve got a Rem 1100 with a youth stock I put together for my nephew and the overall weight of that gun was an issue (even with a 24″ barrel) – the Tri Star seems to be preferred by most the kids we’ve shot around.

My son is 8 and when he’s a little bit older that’s the gun he’ll be starting with. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

How many of you guys that are under 50 have gotten the vaccine?

33 and got my 2nd dose of Moderna yesterday. No reactions to the first shot, 2nd one seemed OK but a little off w/ some body aches today.

Hopefully kick that and back to normal tomorrow.

    Awesome.

We lost our 2.5yr/old lab Rosie this summer and Maggie my older lab is nearing retirement. We got Lily a GSP in August and she’s been fun (and an absolute handful)… !!

We’re a couch dog family. As I told my wife tonight when my son and dogs were flying around the house – “this is why we can’t have nice things” )

SuperATV sells new / aftermarket ones for $600. Finding used doors in general for one is a challenge. I’ve been looking for used full doors for that model the past month or so w/ no luck.

Correct. SSP Gun Club in SSP or Game Unlimited in Hudson are probably your closest options.

Co worker has a 2012 700 that’s worked OK but had plenty of problems and is currently out of commission (he’s loosing coolant).

I believe that all these machines have issues if you use them enough, even a friends Honda Pioneer 1000 just had to go in because of trans issues. Buy something that parts are readily available for and if you’re not up to wrenching, a dealer close by.

I have no personal experience w/ the brand.

It also depends on how much you’re going to use the machine and what for. 60% of the time mine is a gun wrack at sporting clay tournaments (low speed, LOTS of stop/starts)- the other 40% of the time we’ll trail ride.

PS – I’ve had Rangers that have worked well overall, but I’ve put a wrench to both I’ve owned.

Luck! They cashed mine 4 days after I mailed it. I also mailed mine in very last minute

Same here, I mailed mine on the 13th and it was cashed the following week.

    Hey Bigpike,

Out of curiosity, were you able to shoot one before ordering?
