No orioles or HB’s yet. Had a few goldfinches, haven’t been able to keep them around for years. I had cardinals all winter but seems like lots more all of a sudden, some look very young.
May 2, 2024 at 1:54 pm #2270702That link is a one pack, not 3, right? These things (bobbins) are all the way from $6-$25, is there any difference? They look pretty universal too, are they.
May 2, 2024 at 9:42 am #2270574May 1st is when I usually put out the oriole feeder. Anybody seen one yet in Minnesota? Anything as far north as you yet, Glenn?
April 30, 2024 at 4:49 pm #2270290It’ll spring off that P1000 faster than you wind it on! Way too stiff.
April 30, 2024 at 4:47 pm #2270289Seems most of these students don’t fully understand the cause they are supporting….

Exactly!
April 23, 2024 at 5:41 pm #2268998I’ve had at least 4 doves for about a week and a half. No catbirds or orioles yet. HB feeder went out today.
April 23, 2024 at 8:13 am #2268818I have fished the Mississippi river north of Brainerd many many times. The bass are good both smallmouth and largemouth, crappies and sunnies this time of year are great, and plan to get off from the many many northern there are in the river. However, walleyes are almost impossible for me on the river. I’ve got a few, and I’ve got a couple friends that have been lucky and got a few walleyes but it could be a long day for you If walleyes are your soul target. Catfish are really coming on in the last years, I never saw one when I was a kid but now it seems like you can catch them all the time. To my knowledge, they don’t call any of the river up here by pool. As far as how far north of Brainerd, you can put in right at rice lake in Brainerd and head up but once you get a little further than rabbit Lake it does get very rocky and very very shallow. I’ve got up to about where the Pine River comes in But to go much further past, that is pretty dangerous unless you have a very shallow boat
April 20, 2024 at 7:38 pm #2268454I had to look at the book again to be sure it was .040. The new plugs as I said all came at .030 and the old plugs I took out were all at .030, I went by the book but still wonder a little if it was right.
April 19, 2024 at 4:14 pm #2268318Just look up Keep Alive systems, learn it, and put in an oxygen system. I could transport 5 gallons of shiners in a 20 gallon garbage can 100+ miles and loose 6 or 7 minnows. At home in the garage they lasted months.
April 19, 2024 at 4:06 pm #2268315The gap in my question was .040, all the plugs I bought in the box were about .030. That’s enough to make the 5 Mn it took to check them worthwhile.
April 17, 2024 at 4:03 pm #2267908I’m going to see Micheal Martin Murphy at the Dakota in Mpls. Tickets were $52 each, 4 with fees were $290.

Mines close too and MK is who told me to put it there.Directly from Minnkota’s website:
“The heading sensor should be installed at least 24 inches form the motor itself.”
then they better tell their customer service people that. I know it says that in the book that’s why I called Minnkota. The customer service rep told me where to put it in my situation which is about I’d say maybe be a foot away from the trolling motor. it’s been there for two years and never had a problem.
March 23, 2024 at 5:16 pm #2262999If anyone lives around the Brainerd area and has a son or daughter, that would like them, I have an almost complete set of in fisherman‘s, and walleye insiders that I would give away. There’s no way anyone could afford getting them shipped to them, that box weighs a lot. I watched them sometimes on eBay people trying to get anywhere from 3 to 5 dollars per issue and it seems like they never sell.
March 23, 2024 at 5:01 pm #2262996I have to believe anything north of Minneapolis, or even St. Cloud is still safe. Not much industry north of there.
March 21, 2024 at 4:05 pm #2262603Thanks for the ideas! I have picked out a few that hold special memories or pictures. I like the idea of framing them. We are talking around 100 magazines so there is quite a few!
I added my location….sorry for not doing so when I joined, I visit this site daily, but don’t post too much…. yet, retiring in July..
Heck, you’re a neighbor! Btown here too.
March 21, 2024 at 2:53 pm #2262579I know some of the posts that had 2017 and newer was new version. I’m ipilot with no link 2022 Terrova, is there a quest version that’s newer? If so I’ve never heard of it. Anybody know for sure? I think 2017 and newer are the same.
March 21, 2024 at 10:22 am #2262481Another post where your profile should include location. Come on guys at least put in your state if you don’t want to let anyone know a more precise location. Sorry though, never heard of that magazine, and I’m almost as old as paper.
March 21, 2024 at 10:18 am #2262479How many generations of spot lock are there? When did the lates generation come out? My Terrova with Bluetooth is two years old, is it the newest version of spot lock?
March 19, 2024 at 6:01 pm #2262087I think the overall officiating in the girls tourney was the worst ever. Every game had game changing controversial calls. Why do regular season officials get paid and state tournament officials are volunteers, that sure seems crazy. They sure got what they paid for.
March 18, 2024 at 6:19 pm #2261811My biggest advice Glenn is to get the brand that you’re used to running. If you’ve had hummingbirds, then get hummingbirds, If you have used Lowrance stay there. Learning a whole new system is a real pain in the butt. I bought a helix nine a couple years ago after being a Lowrace guy for so many years i started with a green box and then a yellow box and then a paper graph and all the other models they had and I still have trouble learning that hummingbird. Hate it!
March 13, 2024 at 6:53 pm #2260537I’m with Tom, look for moist carpet. Also Take off the plastic floor moulding under the door in the cab. I had a bad weld that leaked onto the carpet and had that smell.
March 8, 2024 at 8:19 am #2259112I’m not a hockey fan, but I will take one exception to one of your statements. You imply that the southern teams shouldn’t be as good as the northern teams because of the players. Players aren’t a local farm crop, they’re bought not grown.
March 8, 2024 at 8:04 am #2259103The house finches have become pretty scarce the last week, just when I was ready to site in my pellet rifle. I have to get those things thinned out before the purples starts showing up and I can’t tell the difference. They look a lot alike.
