Another vote for the Kahtoolas. Spendy, but work it.

I’ve worn the Baffin Titans for the past 3 seasons. Nothing but good things to say about them. They definitely are Herman Munster big and took a short time to get used to walking in, but all in all I like them a lot. I have some Frabill bibs that do zip down around them but it does take a little effort.
November 25, 2016 at 6:05 am #1652477Thanks guys. Good info. I believe have been convinced to buy. Not that I needed a lot of convincing…
November 20, 2016 at 7:35 pm #1651641Great. Thanks for the info. Do either of you know if there are any specific cleaning instructions for all the crud that can get on the flasher? I looked at the manual but saw nothing. Is the flasher surface hardy enough to take a wiping with a micro fiber cloth and water or windex?

Sorry, I assumed $80 was ok without asking. Is $80 ok?

October 31, 2016 at 8:53 am #1648008When I pencil grip a rod my finger would always end up hitting the hook holder as I rest it on the rod. Annoyed the hell out of me so any rods I order I get no holder. I just use the tape holding my reel on as the hook holder.
October 22, 2016 at 6:50 pm #1646391Hi,
Yeah, I think they might be too small. A size 10 shoe would probably be OK, but 10.5 would be too tight I think.
December 19, 2013 at 9:24 pm #1372974I don’t think handhelds are going anywhere until a smartphone can match the runtime and accuracy of a good handheld. I am not aware of any WAAS enabled smartphone so accuracy just can’t match a WAAS enable handheld.
December 19, 2013 at 9:20 pm #1372972This will be my 3rd year wearing Baffin Boots. Couldn’t be more satisfied. Reasonable price and I think well worth the investment. For ice fishing I wear the 100% rubber exterior Huntsman series Titan boots. Keep the feet plenty warm and can stand in slush/water for hours and not leak. Pair them with some Kahtoola micro spikes and your set for pretty much anything on the ice.
December 19, 2013 at 9:10 pm #1372965I have been using the invisaswivel clear fluorocarbon swivel the past few years and it has worked as well as any other swivel I’ve used. I like that it is clear and neutrally buoyant.
December 15, 2013 at 10:03 pm #1371622Now all we need is a little help from Detroit and what a perfect end to a season it would be if Chicago and Green Bay would be playing for the division on the last day of the season. With Green Bay winning, of course.
December 10, 2013 at 10:19 pm #1370504Nice job. This will be my first winter attempting to make my own jigs. I think this year I’ll stick to the plain jigs until I get the hang of it. Keep posting. Be interested in seeing your progress throughout the winter.
December 10, 2013 at 10:15 pm #1370503I agree with the no reel seat opinion. I certainly do not begrudge anyone who wants a reel seat but I like the endless possibilities for positioning your reel that a plain handle gives you.
December 10, 2013 at 10:09 pm #1370500Agreed. Hooked up for the season. Unhooked during off season. Just remember to charge every couple months or so during off season to keep battery in top shape
December 10, 2013 at 8:23 pm #1370467I’ve been wearing Icebreaker Brand Merino wool socks and liners for the last few years. Very light. Very warm. Wick moisture extremely well.
November 30, 2013 at 3:06 pm #1367665A little longer before really safe ice here in southern WI. I guess the only good thing is that I have one of my annual winter colds now so hopefully at ice up I’ll be ready to go.
November 29, 2013 at 11:10 pm #1367600Nice
Please send some of that ice south. Got ice fever, but we’re just a little ways away yet.
