I get up to LBDN and there I like the Ceymar 10 and Helios SX for jigging and Ceymar Bait Feeder for a set line.

I came on here to recommend Tom Boley as well. He breaks it down so you can apply to any lake yo go to.

All my rods have Seaguar Blue Label in varying strengths depending on application.

Either will be good. I consider the precision to be a go to 1/8 & 3/16 oz spoon rod and it also handles No. 4 rippin and W2/3 jigging raps very well. The Fusion on the other hand is a 1/16 oz spoon rod and also handles the No. 4/3 rippin raps and No. 2 Jigging Rap. Lots over over lay between the 2 rods and really my only change between them is 5# line on the precision and 3# on the Fusion.

If you are specifically targeting pike with a Jig rod I would suggest 3-5″ white and chartreuse tubes with 1/4 oz tube jigs, bigger spoons, slab raps, and under spins with paddle tails. Another aspect is location. I have always had the best luck with pike over top of weeds near deeper water. Think weeds in 10 FOW near a deeper pool of 20 FOW. Lastly this isn’t a finesse presentation IMO. Rip and move the baits around you are not so much trying to convince them to eat as hang on for the strike.

I run a 34″ Commander and have used 10-15# Frost Braid and 6# Sufix Advanced Mono both with success. The Braid I tie 8-12# Fluorocarbon on with a swivel. Have caught everything from Pike to Crappie.

The Precision has been dubbed the 1/8 oz spoon rod. Owning run i can attest that it thrives with them. Also discovering that it works well for the No. 4 Rippin Raps and the medium/small Slab Rap. I have no experience with the Gold Digger but have only read good things.

The QT is my favorite panfish rod. I use it for light 1/16th oz spoons mostly. I also have the Fusion and have not really found a place for it where I don’t prefer the Precision or QT in the same application.

I grabbed a couple of the Plano Spoon boxes. They have worked great for long term storage. Only grabbing what i plan to take on the ice each day. Also use them for Jigging Raps and Shiver Minnows.

Last batch of jigs I ordered from Widow Maker. Most larger baits I order from Scheels or FishUSA.

Like others have stated IMO the Fusion would handle 1/8 oz baits better than the BW. Also, the BW has a very slow action. Think Power Noodle.

Saw this on Target Walleye’s Instagram the other day. I see he just released a video about treble hook mods to avoid the need to tip your spoon with a minnow head. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t catch my curiosity.

I also wonder how much VMC pays a guy like that to run that video

    <div class=”ido-oembed-wrap”><iframe title=”Ice fishing walleyes with NO live bait (treble-hook tweaks)” width=”850″ height=”478″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/7RGVmOm8bkY?feature=oembed&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen=””></iframe></div>

James was using a feathered treble on No. 6 Rippin Raps last year on Winnipeg so somebody has some faith in them.

Tingler spoon is the first one dropped down the hole for Bluegill up to Walleye. Red Shiner has destroyed panfish in the past.

Like others have stated I used the VMC Crank Bait snap in 00 for spoons and most minnow style baits. Thinking about tying the minnow style baits directly this year.

I didn’t want to plan on string tackle in my rod case so I went with the Otter Pro-Tec 40. This case will work great for rod storage to and from the lake. Most place I walk on and have rod holders in my sled so the weight wasn’t a concern. Might also pick up a Otter Sportsman for my panfish rods.

About the same diameter as Floroclear and less diameter than Advanced Mono. I say give it a shot. I’m assuming you will have the normal concerns with Fluorocarbon lines but doubt they will be a complete turn off.
