I have thorn bros, tucr deadsticks and I find myself using the jt walleye snare alot more than the other 2. especially in a fish house. I really like the indicator at the end of the rod. I can see it on the other side of the fish house.

Called Strikemaster yesterday as I bought a 8″ light flight in October. New blade are already shipped and will be delivered tomorrow. I’ve used my auger already a few times and I thought it cuts fine but I’ll take another set of blades….

I’ve had good luck on frostbite medium dinner spoons. I’m also becoming a fan of their rods as well. I order straight from the website. The Snyder’s lures death roll spoons have been working good as well…

there is a $200 difference between the lithium battery version and the regular battery. I got the regular battery version and got a amped outdoors 30ah battery for $100. I got a far better battery and saved $100 over the lithium battery version. And if you want, you can sell the lead acid battery that comes with it for $50. That battery is a tank.

I agree, the show should be in early november. I want the deals and stuff before fishing starts.

Livescope is going to be my one big fishing purchase this year. I’m just afraid that next year there going to have something better and more refined. Just waiting for the best deal.

There is a slot for a micro SD.

I’ve found the preloaded maps better than anything on the market, especially if you do the updates.

which map chip does it take? Navionics?

I’ve been having that debate with my fishing buddies as well. We’ve decided to go to devils this year. Right after new year. Thinking Woodlands due to plowed roads, I’ll be bringing the castle so hopefully we can get on a good spot for walleyes and wander for perch during the day. Any other resorts on devils cater to wheel houses that should be considered?

If you can get 40% off any unit, get a mx7. Having gps is nice along with the different functions the digital flasher offers.

Might want to upgrade to a bigger house. Being cramped sucks. thorne brothers has the otter pro lodge on sale.

Went to thorne brothers today and they recommended the regular regional map chip. The only thing the Hotmaps had was a Google earth view of land masses. Not worth the extra $50.

Id get the flip over. Make sure you get runners on it. It’s easier to haul. Keep your poop to a minimum. And id pony up for a used wheeler.

I’ve been fishing red since the crappie days. Everyone is concerned about how many new fisherman and how many new wheel house owners there are and I could care less. The fishing pressure from this group of newbies will be minimal. The one good thing it will do is help resorts by paying access, bait fees, restaurant/bar and pump more money into the local economy. A good majority of these new money anglers don’t have a clue what they are doing. The 3 fish limit is fine with me. Red is a huge lake and there is more fish than you can imagine in it because it is managed well.

thorn brothers custom rods is the teats….In fact I think tuc rods use thorn blanks on some models. Either the perch sweetheart or the walleye sweetheart. I have both…great rods..

People spend 20-40k on an ice house and wont spend the 500 on a electric auger are ridiculous. If you want your house to smell like 2stroke smoke then be my guest. If all your going to do is drill holes in a shack then buy the ion for 399. I prefer strike master 40v myself.

Marcum had a deal on old stock on their website. I picked a 2017 lx3tci for under $300 shipped. I looked at the m series but I’ll stick to tried n tested lx series..

My buddy has a glacier toy hauler and its a nice house but they also seem spendy for a wood framed house. Ive been also looking at firebrand houses and they seem to fit within the budget. Aluminum frame spray foamed insulation. Their jack system is different but no messing around with hydraulics. Seem well made.

Im a fan of boarderview lodge. I usually go there 2 times every winter. The best thing I like about sleeper houses is that I’m not anyone”s schedule. I can sleep in if I want, make food when I want and do it on my time…my.02
