I love the baitfeeders for cats/sturgeon. I use Shimano Baitrunner 6000s and don’t have any problems. My friend used Avengers all last year with no issues seems to be a solid reel. Good luck!

Tackle bags always ride in the truck never the boat. My buddy learned the hard way when his bag flew out of the boat. The ride on the trailer can be pretty rough. Not saying this is what happened to you, but it would not surprise me. I hope you find it.

Almost every spring rivers flood and relocate structure. when the river floods and moves sandbars and other structure, it is not gone just relocated. I am sure they will find a place. I think the phrase “This isn’t their first rodeo” applies here.

I bought the floating bibs this year and I am not impressed. Several issues. This year they added 4 inches to the suit but forgot to adjust the padded knee area accordingly. My knee pads are so low they are like shin pads. I have an XL. Also the cargo pockets are way to narrow, I can barely get my hands into the pockets and my hands are not huge by any means. The suit is also fraying in many spots. I am going back to my ice armor next year.

I think a 1000 size might be too heavy I would go with a Shimano 500. either sienna or sedona.

Ordered one last Friday 2/22… Haven’t heard anything on if it shipped or not yet. Sure hope they’re not out of stock already… Paypal shows it was paid for, would really like to have it before hitting the ice this weekend.

I ordered the 19th and have not received a shipping email or the sweatshirt. I am sure it will come soon.

Unfortunatly the “Same day shipping” if you order before 11am doesn’t always apply as i ordered mine on the 19th @ 10:23am and i just got notified that it is being shipped today the 22nd

Interesting. I ordered earlier that same morning and I am yet to receive a shipping email.

The original jerkbait was a Rapala Husky 13 if I am not mistaken.

I use a noodle rod and I am not sure how people are having a difficult time detecting ‘up’ bites. I spend a ton of my time on ice crappie fishing and it has never been a problem seeing negative bites- with or without a spring bobber. Are people not watching the line while they watch the rod tip? Pretty distinct difference between a tight line with a jig and the line going completely limp when a crappie moves up with the bait. watching the line is key. I also exclusively use high-vis line for easier line sight. I use the TUC noodle and before that the St Croix Legends.

How much money are you looking to spend? How many rods and reels are you looking to purchase?

Vertical Jigging Walleye Rod and Reel: 6’3″ ML Extra Fast or 6’6″ ML Fast St. Croix Eyecon paired with a 1000 series Shimano (Sahara, Symetre, Saros) Saros is one of the best reels for your money, IMO because you get two spools.

Drop Shot Bass Rod: Shimano Compre 6’8″ M Fast Action (Fishes like a Med. Light) paired with a 1000 or 2500 series Shimano (Sahara, Symetre, Saros).

Crankbait and Spinnerbait Bass and Pike Rod: Fenwick Silverhawk 7′ MH Med. Fast paired with a Shimano Citica or Curado baitcasting reel.

The old Saros came with 2 spools. The new one does not.

I did not have to help somebody out by putting them on a spot to catch fish but earlier this year I had a guy pull up to my shack looking for some shiners. They were out and did not want to go back to town. We normally get 2 dozen shiners because thats about what we go through every night. We ended giving the guy about half of what we had left. They offered to pay, we declined. That night was by far the best walleye fishing we have had this year. Coincidence? I believe in karma and also helping out your fellow fisherman in a pinch. On their way back to the launch they made a point to stop back by us and and chat as well as offer us whatever bait they had left. What goes around comes around.

I use Cabela’s Fly rod and reel case. I can get up to 3 combos into one and it doesnt take up nearly as much space as those huge boxes. And you can get them for about $20.

I run amsoil as well at 60:1 and love it. I always use seafoam. In fact, my solo has never seen untreated gas.

Again why? What’s the benefit of running sea foam in every tank?

Stabilizes fuel and keeps engine clean. Keeps carbon from building. Most small engine problems are fuel related, cheap insurance.

I have used the Hi Viz sufix for years with next to zero memory issues. How are you guys putting the line on? For spinning reels it is always best to have it done by machine. Putting it on by hand and letting the spool lay on the floor is a bad way to spool line. The line needs to go on the reel exactly how it comes off the filler/pony spool to limit memory issues.
