Thanks guys! And thanks Daryl, I agree with you on the saugers and walleyes. We sure tried for them in such areas as well, but came up empty. Was actually in another spot last night casting for some, and did see a few caught, but came empty doing that as well.

I also agree, with all this water coming down, I’m sure we will see a few more surprises in the area. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that I want to try this year, so we’ll see if any of them work.

    Brian,

Since they had been running the water at Lewis and Clark the last couple of years, we have been catching a lot more Pike. Fall of 2009, I caught more Pike in one weekend(Labor Day Weekend) then I had the entire 8 years combined. Be ready for some tight lines and a few snakes on the end of them.

This is true, those are some good points. Hope it goes well…and speakin of that, I should go out and look at my livewell pump. Hasn’t worked for me yet this year, so I suppose I’ll be replacing that too. One thing after another….

    Brian,

Check your fuses on the dash or right below where you turn your livewell pump on. Cold weather fishing blows alot of fuses.

Might have to check it out again once we get good ice on L&C.

So how was the fishing over the weekend? I wish I could have been there.

As it turned out I ended up with some flu bug on Saturday.

    Daryl B.

    Daryl,

The fishing was very good. Not as good as the MU Tigers beating Oklahoma, but a close second.

    Thanks Daryl!!

I’m registered to get email updates when you have new blog posts and I love it. I read them right away on my cell phone. Thanks again.

Just make for sure you are not on the other side of the highway when he is reading “Daryl’s Barbs and Backlashes.”

I don’t get it either. I figured it would be an easy SD win.

Figures you would think that, since you are a Oakland fan. We all know how much love there is between KC and Oakland.

The river is up and I mean really up from all of the rain we have had. I would probably guess that the bank fishing is a big no go due to water conditions. If you want to fish one of the local lakes or pound Lewis and Clark, let me know.

Oh yes, there have been more than a couple people doing pretty well lately. Maybe it’s been too hot to type it up.

It’s not to hot it has just been a little busy. So hear you go: In the past few weeks I have fished both Francis Case and Lake Sharpe. Put in at Francis Case at Pease Creek and pulled plugs over the top of the trees. Caught most of our fishing running Lil and Big Ripper Reefrunners in the Wonderbread color.

At Sharpe I went up to the West Bend area and caught fish running my lures on bottom in 12-22′ of water. The fish up there were really hitting #7 Firetiger and #5 Jointed Chartreusse and White Cranks.

Blue Screens can be a multitude of things, some will even call it the Blue Screen of Death.

When you initially boot your computer up, there will be a code that is associated with the blue screen. If you can write down the error code, someone might be able to help you out a little farther here on the board. Just got a laptop back to a friend that had the Blue Screen and it was just a bad memory problem.

This is getting downright funny. Pete, glad to hear from you on this board. How is the new boat treating you?

    Riverking,

There is a NWA Tournament there the weekend of May 15/16th, so I believe information is not going to be flowing until after that. If you are headed to Crofton then you will probably be putting in at Weigand. Watch the posts after next weekend because there will be some good info on here after the tournament.

    Brian,

Welcome to Nebraska. About the best lake in Omaha for Eye’s is Wherspan. Nice little lake off of Giles and 156th street. Lots of Crappies in there also. If your wanting larger lakes either look out West or Lewis and Clark is about 2.5 to 3 hours away.

Yes Bob it is. The pictures that I received indicated they were from L&C. If they were from FC then so be it and I photoshop pics so you cannot see the background. Not every newspaper obviously were having a hay day with these fish being caught.

Thanks Brian. I got these pics sent to me by phone from Cougar. He had indicated that they were from Fort Randall Area. But it looks like at least one of them were from Fort Thompson.

    Brian,

Define Nebraska? It was on one of those border lakes that I like to fish.

If you are after Eye’s, I would fish the bottom part of Lake Sharpe. The tailwaters might hold some fish but they are usually on the move in April. The bottom of Sharpe should be going crazy that time of year.

Nope. Hollywood has become a Bass Pro exclusive is what I am hearing.

Good news is that when I was in Cabelas on Saturday they got in a shipment of Flicker Shads. Bad news is I didn’t leave you guys any Blue Tiger’s

Wilson didn’t know that they were getting this order and he doesn’t know if they are going to get another order? It didn’t sound like the rep even knew what the future was for Flicker Shads

I am sure that for now there are plenty of Flicker Shads to go around since Bass Pro, Cabelas, and Scheels are carrying them. There looks to be some great new colors out.

    Mike

    In Central Nebraska we have:

    No Scheels
    No Bass Pro Shops
    None at Kearney Cabelas

I guess you could always go online and order them:

    http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0078418125136a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=flicker&sort=all&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23

That is probably what I would do, since you have a lack of options out there.

Look out Huskers, we are going for three in a row on October 8. *Note that this is the first time this has happened since 1969* Good luck to the Huskers this year and hopefully one of our teams can return the Big 12 title back to where it belongs, The North Division.
