Not only does a cover protect the windshield it will boost your mileage enough to justify putting it on when you travel.

You might get a lot of snags on LOTW fishing on the bottom.

Check out Brooklyn Kayaks. I have the FK 285. Very stable and comfortable but a little heavy. Great for fishing and floating downstream.

Controlling grass fire burns. A lot better than a scoop shovel.

Try a minnow on the trailer. You will catch more small fish but sometimes it is the only thing that works.

Put them under the broiler. Turn them when they bubble. They will be as good as the first time.

Fish two rods, one with 2 lb fluoro, one with fireline, for a while and I think you will find that you catch more fish with the fluoro. My experience is in shallow backwaters.

Keep them cool. Put a bottle of ice in with them and change it every few days

Check the muffler. The spark arrester screen will plug up. Poke a hole in it see if that is the problem.

A Deere dealer should be able to make or order the parts. Might be a little pricey.

I didn’t see a sharp hunting knife in case you have to cut an anchor rope in a hurry.

I have a Minn Kota 3 bank charger charging 3 group 29 interstates. I pull Raps on the river all day and the batteries have always been fully charged the next morning. I leave it plugged in all winter and haven’t had to add any water to the batteries so I assume it is doing a pretty good job.

The LV400 is more volatile than the Amine, (more likely to kill your neighbors soybeans or flowers) But it goes away quicker if you want to plant a broad leaf plant after you spray. Both will kill broad leafs. None of them will cause cancer if you wear chemical gloves and follow directions.

We were on Pepin this weekend. Trolled in the morning without any luck. Found some big gills on the south end and picked up two 16″ walleyes jigging for gills in 10′ to 12′ of water. Couldn’t find any perch which we usually do this time of year.

We were up at Mylie’s Place last week. They weren’t on the humps yet. The water temp was 61 all week. They were on islands and points. Jigs and minnows worked better than bait walkers and lindy rigs. Ring worms worked better than night crawlers. Any color worked as long as it was gold. We caught a lot of walleyes, the biggest was 28″, and the fewest crappies, perch, and small mouth than in the last 4 years.

Have had a Cutco fillet knife for 40 years. The blade was always sharpened on Crock sticks and held it’s edge but was losing it’s shape. Sent it in last year to be sharpened and they sent me a new blade for no charge.

Thanks for your replies. We had a good weekend. The water didn’t go as high as predicted and there was little boat traffic other than a lot of sailboats on Saturday and they weren’t a problem. We got a few walleyes and crappies early in the morning pulling cranks and found some really nice gills and perch later in the day.

I have a 60″ Ulterra on a WX 1880. The running depth is adjusted with the control and the unit will deploy to the same depth it was stowed the last time. I would recommend the longer unit. Check whether the head on the longer unit will hit anything in the boat in the stowed position.

I use Fresh Cab for the mice in the boat. It is made to keep mice out of tractor cabs and combines and has worked good for us. You can get it at ag supply stores and implement dealers.

I bought a boat with a terrova in 09 and was happy with the spot lock. Last spring I upgraded to a 36v ulterra and was disappointed with the spot lock. It would drift off the spot and the go to 10 to get back. You had to be careful standing in the front of the boat or it could knock you out of the boat when it went to 10. I complained to the dealer and Minn Kota and their response was that they weren’t aware of a problem. Early this spring I found out that they had upgraded the spot lock and asked the Minn Kota rep if I could upgrade my spot lock. He said no, that I should sell it and get a new one. Good solution for Minn Kota, not so good for me. Obviously the did have a problem and the were aware of it. I won’t ever buy another Minn Kota product.

Gates are down may go back up middle of the week. Water temp is 42-44 depending on where you are. Small saugers are biting, walleyes not so much. Perch are biting but a lot of small ones.

That is what mine does when the battery is low, but it sounds like you have checked that. Try a soft reset, if that doesn’t work try a hard reset, but you will lose all way points and trails. The lowarnce site has directions for the resets.

Be aware that you will probably need two batteries for a full day of fishing. The screen takes a lot of power.

I am in the over sixty category and prefer to stand because of my back. I use a 48″ St Croix Legend with the St Croix spring bobber. I really the fact that you can adjust the bobber and that it won’t deform when you store the rod.

Those seats are heavy! I use a piece of plywood with Styrofoam and carpet glued on top. I put two groves in it to fit the rails. Makes it a lot easier to get at stuff in the sled.
