I tow mine with a F-150 and I don’t think I would want to tow it with anything smaller. It’s quite a bit of weight to not only tow around, but you also have to take in the fact that you have to stop the weight too. Especially if you have to make a sudden stop due to something jumping out in front of you, I look at it being a safety issue.

Eric, since the max recommended rpm is at 6000 for the 150, what would be the max rpm you would want to run the 200 hpdi? I try to keep it at 5800 or below but I know I could run it faster. Is there room to run it a little faster? I just am trying to stay away from damaging anything.

If anyone had fished the border challenge on Big Stone Lake you probably know they canceled it this year. Now the liquor store in Big Stone is going to replace that tournament. If you liked fishing the border challenge, you need to get signed up.

Looks like someone found a spot to fall through tonight. This picture was taken off of battle point.

Here are some fish that were caught out of my boat this year. Can’t wait to start next year’s picture file!

Not saying you shouldn’t do it either, but I have a 24 volt motor on my MX and I have never thought once that I should upgrade. It has had all the power that I would ever need fishing for 10 hours in some pretty undesired conditions. Just out off curiosity, what is the reason your looking at going 36 volt? Maybe there is a certain situation that you would need more power but I haven’t ran into one yet in the 2 seasons I have ran my boat.

Is this a democracy by product? This is going the way of the war on drugs campaign .

David I support what your doing. I wish I knew how to help you out, I just don’t know what I can do.
if you decide taking it past pretrial, not I’m pushing for this, this is a choice that you must make, I’ll be in the court room hopefully with others.

hl&sinker (and desperado) – Thanks for your support. The court case is just one avenue to fight this. It may take some time, but I’ll be trying to organize people together through a website specifically for this purpose. Getting the word out to anyone you know who boats or fishes or is liberty minded is the best you can do at this point.

Buzz – I believe in a multi-pronged approach. Right now, all my energy and time is being put into the court case. I will turn my attention toward the legislative process afterward.

We agree that roadside checkpoints are a poor use of resources. Where we disagree is on the legality of them. The MN supreme court has already said they are not constitutional. The court where my case is being heard does not need to declare them as unconstitutional, they just need to recognize the very clear case law from their higher court.

    Thanks for posting.

    David

Just think if you took an extra 5 mins to pull these weeds off your pontoon? You would have a bunch of free time instead of trying to go to court to fight this and then organize a group of people to fight these laws. I think these laws are a bit stretched myself, but I still take the time every time I pull my boat out and lay on my back under my trailer to make sure my boat is free of all weeds. I find it a bit ironic that you have all the time to go to court and fight this but not much time to play by the rules.

I picked up my new pup this last weekend. She is in the same bloodlines of my other shorthair I lost over a year ago. I was playing around with a pheasant wing on a fishing pole and it appears that she has the same natural instinct. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

Not sure on exact speed, but if your running 30-35 mph your not picking up a very good image. The optimal speed for these things is 10mph or less. I like where SBC mounted this because it protects the transducer from getting struck by objects in the water and it reduces drag when running at WOT. I don’t think you can use this structure scan effectively at high speeds. I would think that this is the best place to mount this transducer. That’s only my opinion though. Hope this helps.

    Hello Eric

Thanks for your response. First, I would like to say that of the Warrior, Ranger, and Skeeter that I was most impressed with the Skeeter and I’m planning to buy one. I also know that in a public forum there is going to be good news and bad news. I just don’t want to buy problems that could have been avoided. Some of the posts that triggered my concern were on this forum as follows:

MX 1825 Gel Coat Fix 1/23/14
    Hull Showing Cracks 729/13
    Leaking Front Live Well 10/3/13
Cracking on New Skeeter 2000T 7/2/13

After reading this post I felt that I should do a follow up on my warranty repairs that took place on my boat over last winter. I was the responsible for the gel coat fix post back in early January. When I posted this, I was a little skeptical myself on how these repairs will turn out. With this being my first big boat purchase I was worried about what the future was going to bring with my boat. I want to let everyone know that my experience with both SBC and Skeeter was great! They sent my boat in to get repaired and while it was there they even fixed a couple other minor things that I didn’t even know about. Everything was handled without one question asked. I’m a true believer on working with a dealership that is on your side, and I know after dealing with SBC, these guys are the ones you want to go to. They went above and beyond to make sure that my boat was back on the water before opener without anymore problems. After I have ran my boat now for a full season after the repairs took place I haven’t had a single thing wrong with my boat. No matter what boat you buy, there is a possibility that there will be some struggles at first. The main thing that matters the most is that if the people you made this purchase from are going to stand behind what they say and make those repairs for you without any hassle. After two years of owning my boat, I’m proud to say that I own a sheeter boat and I possibly couldn’t be any happier with the purchase that I made.

I’m looking to sneak up at the end of October as well. If you could pick what part if the river to fish, where would you fish? I’m thinking I need to do some planning and get a room booked. I’m worried if I don’t, I won’t have a place to sleep. Is it that busy in the fall that people have a hard time finding an open room once they get up there? I would like to wait and see how the bite is going but don’t want to get bit in the butt either. Any recommendations for a place to stay would be greatly appreciated! This place doesn’t have to have all the bells and whistles either. Just a clean bed to sleep in.

I had Skeeter Boat Center rig my structure scan on my MX and they mounted the transducer on the hull just above the step on the starboard side of the boat. I don’t have a picture handy but I could provide one once I get home.

Skeeter makes some sharp boats. Each year I am always amazed on how they try to improve their boats. I will be stopping in to take a peek at this beast. I’m in love with the colors!

No they didn’t. I sat up until midnight watch the clear skies while sippin on a couple weekend refreshments. Then I actually found a live feed map of where the lights were actually being seen. The closest that I seen them get to us was just north of Manitoba. I wish I would have found the map earlier, but on the second hand I was able enjoy and beautiful evening under the stars on my deck without any bugs. I was really excited to see them. The last time I actually saw the northern lights was about 15 yrs ago. They sure are enjoyable to watch.

The Mille Lacs trolling show that James did with Will shows a 1198 Hummingbird on his MX2025. Ch eck out the video, it might give you a good idea of what your looking for.

I cannot tell you how much I have it trimmed up or down when turning. I rarely ever look at my trim gauge. I usually adjust the trim as needed by feel for the boat for what the conditions call for. I know when making sharp turns you have to trim down, but that is pretty common for any boat. If you are making gradual turns I typically don’t have to adjust trim all that much to prevent the prop from slipping. I am running a 200 hpdi.

I am assuming this is something that I will be able to put on my 2012 MX? Appears to be the same set up. I have wanted to upgrade to the F2 jack for awhile.

Nice looking rig! Your going to love fishing out of that boat. Going on my second season with my MX1825 and don’t regret the purchase. I like the colors. Now you will just have to post pictures of the fish that it produces! Congrats on your new boat!

Well we went out on Saturday and like the reports have stated, it was down right slow! We only were able to boat one fish, and only see a few other fish boated from a distance. Lots of boats were out, but didn’t see to many people having any luck. We graphed a bunch of fish just off the flats, just couldn’t seem to get them to bite. Oh well, it was great weather and another relaxing day in the boat.
