I fished a small stretch near Mission ~10 years ago, so not quite the area you’re referring to. But we went in blind trying something new on a windy day and got into some smallies. Turned out to be a lot of fun. I would think primary species would be smallies. Didn’t see a boat on that stretch.
    Good luck!

Thanks B-Man. The old fuel sensor has got to still be in it, right? So would it just need to be connected to the NMEA with an adaptor?

How deep does the 205 ride? I often fish larger lakes but occasionally small to med size lakes and a river that has sandbars that change throughout the year. Any concern getting the 205 vs the 185?

Critical thinking doesn’t require elitist credentials.
This is the appeal to authority fallacy.

For those of you disagreeing with Aaron’s video, what points do you disagree with?

The Angling Buzz/DNR method showed that a large number weren’t even releasable (wouldn’t even swim down the hole). I think this was what Aaron’s video was debunking first and foremost as there’s no way to tell if they’ll die later on.

The video also exposes how scientists and regulators often use preconceived outcomes/confirmation bias in their studies. “Trust the science”, anyone?

Yep it’ll have it pre-downloaded. Not the best map but it’ll do.

Your subscription expired. Navionics now wants $50 a year from you to download maps and receive updates. If you’ve paid in the past you can still access your markers and the maps you previously downloaded. You cannot, however download new areas. This last bit is a bummer because if I go to a new area I won’t be able to view the lake information but I ain’t paying no $50 a year. Thankfully I’d already zoomed in on a large portion of MN

I get that I cannot download new maps, but any clue why my previously downloaded maps are not showing up? Is it because I got a new phone and the app updated?

Trip is se for late July / first few days in August. We will focus on the Van Hook section of the lake. We are thinking of spending another day up there – this day fishing below the Garrison Dam.
y guess is that’s always fish below a power dam feeding on small fish who went through the power turbines.
Has anyone fished below the dam at this time of the year?
    Thanks

I’ve only fished it once in the fall. There’s always some kind of fish in there (catfish, suckers, etc.). If you’re using your boat my only advice is to see what other people are doing. The current is very fast coming out of the pump house and so spot lock will do you no good and don’t even think about anchoring.
Most people boat up towards the pump house and drift with the current while jigging beneath the boat.

Other than that, Van Hook will do you well.

It doesn’t even matter if he doesn’t pitch again. He brings in so much attendance and viewership (especially from Japanese markets) that he’ll definitely be a financial asset to the dodgers

We just bought a Maytag dishwasher, hasn’t arrived yet. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the same company owns Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Frigidaire.

For Sakakawea, the West side/VanHook definitely has more consistent fishing than the east end that time of year.

Thank you. Yeah I plan to use a pre-made cure/seasoning – are there some in particular you really like? I’ve made a lot of beef jerky before just with the basic Nesco seasoning and that worked great, thinking something similar with the deer jerky. Also Thinking breakfast sausage and possibly some snack sticks.

In my house, I’ll allow “Christmas party” type of songs after Thanksgiving but save the “religious” Christmas songs (ie O come all ye faithful, joy to the world, etc) for the actual liturgical season of Christmas (Christmas day and a couple weeks after). It’s a good balance of participating in the secular Christmas season and still waiting in anticipation to celebrate the birth of Christ.

My dad had a UPS driver accidentally hit his basketball hoop. He left a note with claim information and got it taken care of pretty quick.

I was in your “boat” two years ago and went with the Alumacraft 185 FSX. Here were my reasons in order of importance to me:

    1. I didn’t want a Mercury motor (I went with the 150 Suzuki and have been very happy).

Thanks Dan. What made you want to avoid Mercury? And why Suzuki?

Agree that the strikeouts are what killed them this series. Many runners left on base because of strikeouts. Was there a single sac fly this series? The HR or bust strategy needs to go away, especially for guys like Lewis going forward.

Kepler’s first K was a total blown call by the ump and changed the entire game. But Kepler has to be protecting the plate with 2 strikes in the 9th – he already knows that the ump is unpredictable.

Very glad the playoff monkey is off our back, and the Twins have a promising future with their lineup and rotation. They just need to make more contact and have more clutch hitting.

    This guy isn’t mediocre.

5.29 ERA this season. And he’s got 5 Ks in 3 innings.

Not a fan of taking Ryan out this early. Like AJ has been saying, you now need every pitcher to be on his A+ game. It only takes one of the 6+pitchers to blow the game.

I agree. Although I can see Buxton coming in as a pinch hitter and striking out in a big moment.

Buxton back on the roster replacing the “injured” Kirilloff. Wonder what injury they made up for him? rotflol
