Yay. One step in the right direction.

Four steps backwards, four bills at the legislators desks taking our second amendment rights away. Contact your legislators and tell them you oppose these bills.

HF 396 imposes unreasonable firearm storage requirements impeding one’s ability to engage in self-defense and imposes unreasonable penalties for violations.

HF 14 imposes unreasonable restrictions on transferring firearms and seeks to implement universal background checks in addition to implementing new ways for the government to deny firearm ownership and possession.

HF 15 seeks to implement “red flag” laws allowing gun confiscation of law-abiding gun owners based on mere speculation and hearsay evidence.

HF 601 victimizes gun owners who suffer loss or theft of their property, with unreasonable criminal penalties if they do not report lost or stolen firearms within 48 hours of discovering them missing.

I look forward to mine each week. Have been a subscriber for more than 20 years. It is the only paper printed in this state worth reading IMO. It only takes two hours to read, not sure how some cannot get through that in a week.

Do a search and you’ll find that you should be checking the soil temperature. Here is what my search came up with.

Crabgrass preventer should be applied when soil temperatures reach 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If you apply the herbicide too early in the spring, it may break down before the end of the germination cycle.

The lawn guys are putting it down whenever they have time. If it’s a weed and feed they will be mowing sooner. Making money.

Yes when Toms quit gobbling it gets harder, but they seldom quit gobbling completely. I hunt moon times. Sometimes midday can be a much better time to hunt. I have heard plenty of Toms gobble after noon. There has been nothing I have hunted that makes me scratch my head more than a wild turkey.

gimruis you could hunt again this year during the f season, maybe you knew that. I have dug a pit sort of, One year I was dealing with a similar situation and I dug a furrow a little deeper and laid in it. That day another pair of hunters came to the same field and set up by a cedar tree that I sat by the previous day. I didn’t know they were there till it was too late. I called the bird right past them and they were able to kill it. The hunter was a young boy, so I was happy for him.

I had a couple of deer ticks climbing on my pants. I didn’t see near the numbers I have before. Hoping the deep snow killed a bunch of them this year.

Killed my first with a bow Sunday, scored 69.25 It was an amazing hunt, had a bunch of birds around me and one on the roost about 60 yards away. There were 4 birds on the ground below him before he flew down. I was going to kill first bird with a beard, had a couple jakes on my left but never got a shot. One of the four made its way toward me and I shot it at 18 yards. Heard the thwap and it run off. After it run off another bird took off after him, then all the rest took off after him, I could hear them kicking it’s dead as. When I went to collect it the other birds finally saw me and run off. I used a 3′ high x 20′ long piece of burlap for my blind.Public land. My first turkey with a shotgun had white in the tail feathers as well.

Weather tech makes a good fabric one 500.00 opens easily with a pull cord. Like someone said they can be cut and it happened to me. all for a 20 dollar hatchet. I repaired it with flex tape and as been holding together. I am going to replace with a Weather tceh 3 piece folding type for more security.

I have had a rectifier catch fire while on the water. Nearly lost my boat. One must keep their head and have an fire extinguisher onboard.

I was out there Monday and drove out from the north access. Only a few inches of snow on the ice and I didn’t have any trouble getting around in a escape. Crappies were finicky.

I have a 90 hp motor on a tiller warrior boat. I was able to adjust the trim tab on my motor to fix the pull to direction. When the trim is set properly the steering is very light. IMO it’s all about proper setting on the trim.

I’m sure the power steering is convenient though.

I read in MN Outdoor News recently that the DNR may propose to make it legal statewide with some other waterfowl changes as well.

I just use as-is after. IMO odorless when dry. You may need to add accetone as needed while working with it because it evaporates so quickly, thinner coats seem to stick better to traps. I use white for land traps that will be buried to help prevent them from freezing down.

I have some 330’s that I haven’t had to re dip for three years.

Rustolem 40% thinned with accetone 60% is another option.

I was at a resort on Mille lacs a couple years back. Guy had a new merc. The starter was staying engaged. Check on the fly wheel if the starter gear is stuck up. We used a screw driver and pryed it down. The starter would then turn over the motor, but again the starter wouldn’t disengage.

Have you looked to see if this was the issue. This has happened to me a few times. Easy fix.
