Certainly i would check my pants pockets, but my black suitcase has many small black pockets in it. I found ChapStick then them that’s dried out!

Dutch, I don’t know if you got to the part of the story where they said he had “TWO Rounds”.

If he had a box or even a have empty box of 25 rounds, well he should have known better. Frequently I find a loose round in my pocket the day after going to a range.

Two Rounds and no gun? 12 Years? I don’t think so.

    You’re doing fine Eric,

To your point, sometime around 2005 we had high water in November. Can’t really call it a flood. The water came up high enough to flood out and serpent that thought they were going to sleep over winter on the banks of the Mississippi.

At that time Aluminum boats were still the choice and there were no less then 12 posters on this site with photos of snakes in their boats.

I had a problem with snakes for my whole life. At one point I decided to get over these things…snakes, heights ect. I went to the Carpenters Nature Center and asked if they could help me with my little problem. It took a few lessons, shaking and sweat, but now I’m very comfortable with them.

Never did have a problem with spiders.

General question: What’s the point of an inflatable if your not wearing it?

    From the MN DNR Website:

Minnesota has more loons (roughly 12,000) than any other state except Alaska. Threats to loons include human disturbance and pollutants such as lead and mercury. The DNR monitors loon populations with the help of volunteers to improve understanding of what our state bird needs to maintain a strong, healthy presence here.

My statement was more lines in the water will lead to more hooking mortality

It also leads to more limits caught. wave

Understood – just don’t get it is all but that’s no ones problem but my own.
Not saying its bad – just not something I think is needed. IMHO
Also, i think trolling is boring ass no matter how many lines so…. coffee

Honestly, no disrespect intended. I can see two lines on the ice but WHY do I need two lines in my boat? Do I have a bobber line going while throwing for bass or two trolling lines to double my chances? Are you fishing to catch enough to stay alive?
    I don’t get it

    No disrespect here either.

As a catfisherman, I can use two or three lines where I normally fish.
I love setting up for Flatheads with a live bait and then one for channel cats with a dead bait. Hence two lines are welcomed.

As a sturgeon fisherman that has fished pool 2 for both cats and sturgeon, having two lines out can mean the difference in being skunked in a 6 hour trip or not.

As a very part time walleye/pan fishermen, it allows me to use two lines if I wish.

There are people out there that don’t understand the use of two lines and that’s ok. Just don’t force your beliefs on me and I won’t make you use two line or three when your on the Wisconsin side of the river.

Ps I’m a 99.5 catch and release guy, my choice. I don’t force C&R on anyone that keeps their fish.

Gizzard Shad die off every year by the millions. Anytime there’s a temp change of the water a large portion of them die off.

The only reason God put shad in our waters was to feed the other fish. When they die off, the sturgeon and cats come in to clean off the river bottom, but even then there’s plenty left over for the turtles, snakes, birds and other opportunistic feeders.

Reactor 1 is reported at 100% this morning. The MN side across from the Harbor Bar is flowing. I’m not sure how far up or down stream it’s open.

The back channel ramp had ice yesterday afternoon and it was to dark to check out this morning.

Last year we had lower stage and flow. Red Wing didn’t freeze anything like it did this year. Still knocking on fiberglass no one drops in on the Lake.

I’m starting to see water behind the Ella J. Mostly water on the ice but water none the less.
The back channel looks sketchy at best.

And I agree…there will be an ice flow before we’ll be able to get a boat out.
Those dang transducers like to break off with floating ice…I was told. )

The stage last night was up to a whole 3.5′.

I don’t hear them proposing to remove dams,

Maybe I’m just tuned in to dam removals.
The Crow River and the MN River are just a couple that have lost damS in the last ten years.
Not to mention someone’s great idea to make the Mpls/St Paul portion of the Mississippi back into a “wild river” by removing dams.

If a person looks nation wide, removing dams are happening all the time. (which I hear is good for the fish-jury is still out on that)
