That would be great!
Good excuse to head down and see some monsters!
January 12, 2011 at 11:31 am #98621My deer seem to enjoy this recipe…
2 parts calcium
2 parts 2-1 (calcium and phosphorous)
1 part trace minerals. All can be purchased at Fleet Farm for a very nominal cost compared to pre-made varieties.
January 10, 2011 at 1:04 pm #98497Sure sounds like a pain.
I like the idea of getting together with a few buddies and coming up with a score just for my own information. Always wanted a P&Y buck but not worth the hassle I guess. Thanks for all the info!
January 7, 2011 at 11:31 am #98397Five points for team #34, Wisconsin loader season.
Sorry for the tailgate picture.
November 3, 2010 at 10:52 am #91277Twenty points for team 34 with my pumpkin day 8 pointer with the sweet kickers on the G2. Flex tone brought him right within 15 yards and he dropped within 50 yards of the stand.
October 9, 2010 at 10:02 am #88186Good luck to all the youth hunters this weekend! Be safe and remember to capture the memories.
Just getting ready to head out with my 11 year old grandsons first trip to the stand behind the gun. He was up all night with visions of P&Y’s running under his stand. Should be a fun weekend.
August 22, 2010 at 3:13 pm #894878Nice night last night, ended up with 7, biggest around 15, smallest around 8. Slack water off the current with livers produced the best.
August 14, 2010 at 11:21 am #893325Thanks for the good info guys, getting pumped for some fat cats tonight!
July 21, 2010 at 4:47 pm #888311We had a pretty good day last Sunday pulling shallow water toward the top end of the lake. Big bright Shad Raps at speeds around 2.5 – 2.8
Heard of several boats doing good in deeper water with numbers but not the size we were getting.June 24, 2010 at 10:30 am #882427Walleye can be very good if prepared and smoked correctly…really good.
June 11, 2010 at 9:16 pm #879334Very shallow coming out of Bay City. I would certainly suggest Covill if your new to the area.
April 12, 2010 at 1:53 pm #863019At the head of the lake this weekend there were two cans submerged with only a small part of the lifting hooks showing and one can totally submerged with a good eddy wake showing. Really need to be careful in that area guys!
February 11, 2010 at 3:25 pm #77072For a small fee, there are alot of ‘guides’ who will put you on a good spot on a river bank for the day and supply you with equipment and bait. There is some excellent huge catfish and carp fishing to be had depending on the area of Spain you are visiting.
I will be heading over the end of the month for a week. Gotta love work! I will see if I can find out anymore info.November 26, 2009 at 11:06 am #70425If you are going to store the jars on the shelf, I would put a little more research into the safety of the ‘oven’ method of canning. You can’t achieve the temperatures needed to kill bacteria in a normal water bath or in the oven. Pressure canner does this with heat and pressure.
And yes, canned game is tough to beat!
October 28, 2009 at 10:31 am #65163Yeah, gotta wonder about the meat but think of the poor sucker that has to gut that deer after a week!
