    Thanks for the post……….

I fished all weekend long and SLOW is an understatement. We fished 3 days and caught a grand total of 8 fish. Worse than last year by 1 fish. I heard the guides have been taking their clients to minn. because that is the only place they can catch any fish. Pretty sad three big lakes and no fish we even fished silver and I talked to a guy there who fished it for 24 hours straight and they caught 3 walleyes all under 8 inches. I personally would not recommend ANYONE to waste their time up there. The best luck came from millers bay little millers to be exact. Saw the fish down there but they didn’t want to bite for us or anyone.

    Handa

I live about an hr from the IGL’s and love to fish’em
Finding fish usually isn’t very hard but it may take some moving around… Getting them to bite is a matter of having patients and switching up your presentation until you get them to bite.

I would recommend going to the IGL’s any time of the year.

As far as guides taking clients to Mn thats very hard to believe………

Every one has a different opinion.

I run 10lbs Berkley Vanish in moderately clear to clear lakes I like the thought of having my line disappearing in the water. In more stained lakes I will run 10lbs Berkley Fireline. The 0 stretch in fireline gives it incredible sensitivity which allows you to detect fowled plugs better.

If you haven’t bought those Sealines yet check out Abu Garcia’s new line of Line counters. They are the smoothest Line Counter on the market. The 6500LC will hold up to 8 colors of 18lbs lead core plus backing.

I just got word tonight that a local dropped the front end of his four wheeler into Iowa Lake.. I guesss He was close enough to shore that they got a rope and pulled him out. I think I will be back on the Des Moines this weekend!

Chomps had some nasty storms earlier this yr up to 12″ of rain in some parts of the North Central part of the state.

Anthony I’ll get you a report later in the week.

Luke the water visibility is about 2′ so yes it’s a bit cloudy but not necessarily dirty… It might be the pics???

Old Bear, this lake will keep producing nice perch, walleyes crappie and even pike as long as everyone lets go those smaller fish to grow.

    Andy,
I know what you meant. Did’t think you would drive up here and take my spot. Even if you did I know you would have the decency to practice catch and release. I didn’t want to explain the, who’s, what’s where’s and why’s. There are a lot of people who practice good conservation and release the big fish to be caught another day. With that said I know there are a lot of people who would keep those 6 plus lbs eye’s for show and tell.

Just my thoughts don’t mean to upset anyone.

Good luck with the tourney Luke!
    Gas prices do stink.

    Thnks Andy
Yes, there are reasons why these fish were relating to the spots we caught them in. I would rather not say right now for they are very vulnerable. I won’t even let some of my friends know where we caught them. Hope you understand…..

Andy, are you and Luke fishing Ryan’s ice tourney??
    Thanks

Luke, the river is very low….. but water visablity is 2-3ft in some areas.
A good rain before we freeze is greatly needed.
