Good day on the water Thursday. Keeping the boat in 20 foot of water, and casting to deeper water with current flow back to the dam. 1/4 oz. jig, color did not matter, and a 3 in. flipper tail plastic, lime green or purple color were the best producers. Cast jig to the start of the current break, and tight line the drift back towards the dam. No jigging motion, the natural drift triggered the bite. All fish were walleye, 18-22 inch fish. One boat next to us was putting on a clinic with the natural drift pattern. He was boating 3 fish to everyone elses 1. The tight line over the side jigging method did not produce well.

Ya mean to say that there are other places to fish on the river besides Red Wing, I would have never guessed… But don’t spread the word too much or you’ll be looking for parking spots 2 miles away,,,especially if you post a report that they are stacked up below the dam
I know it sells the website….
Sure glad we have alternate places to fish further downstream
