Depends on how often your towing. Was lucky enough to have a big diesel work truck for a bit was fun to drive and I looked cool. But spent a lot more time driving it like a normal car than pulling things. It was a lot nicer driving a half ton gas after diesel truck was gone.(when it came to just driving and hunting versus pulling stuff. Didn’t need a step ladder to get in and out, didn’t get fuel on everything each time filling, could park everywhere, didn’t urine off neighbors every time I started it

Last year had new clip for leash rope. Was going to leave lake if course two boats waiting push boat off beached shore clip comes loose. Yelled at wife JESSICA she glares says WHAT! I say the boat! Throw my phone and keys at her on shore dive in swimming! Catch boat like a dang episode of bay watch bringing it back to shore. Our two year olds telling why’s daddy swimming? That’s silly! Best part old codger that was parking says to his wife what the hells he doing

never been to ortonville, but my personal preference is somewhere that has a good amount of tackle. the type of lures you don’t see at the big box stores.
also staff with knowledge of what the fish are currently doing.

My top group meal not much work

    chicken phillys

cut up a bunch of boneless skinless chicken breasts night before small pieces size you’d want in a sandwhich
cut up green peppers and onions
throw everything in crockpot in morning
pour in can or cans of vegetable broth
pour in envelope or envelopes of italian dressing/seasoning depending on how much food
cook 3-4 hrs on high or 7 hours on low
cut up french bread bake in oven for 10 minutes and let everyone dish up their sandwhiches.

I generally fish with them until can’t get them or I switch to the short rods. no matter time of year always dip them in lake right away to get used to temperature before they twist curl and tie my setup into a knot with that blasted leech sex juice they get all over the line.
