Lowrance got it’s technology from Garmin’s Livescope in a swap on the patent infringement case that Garmin lost. I am sure there is a time limit on the “Sharing of Technology” and that may be why Livescope 2.0 is not out yet.

James’s, maybe Mega Live will pay for itself in auger blades! Just think of the extra time you will have to fish.

I would bet they wait another year due to demand and the settlement with Lowrance. They could announce at ICE expo but doubt it.

I have gen 1 and can’t wait for the next gen!

Just one picture fish today. A little over 8 lbs and a bunch in the 1-3 lbs range. 6.5 inches of ice, was surprised since it was open water a week ago.

Tight lines everyone and hope you get to walk on water very soon!

Make sure you get a 93SV with the GT52 transducer not the CV52.

Yep, they have stock the lake heavy this year. It hard to keep the 3/4 pounders off long enough to get to the big ones. Nailed over 100 little ones to get to that one big one.

Enjoy your show and thanks for all the good tips!

James, ready to make the drive back to Henry’s in that new truck? Great ice and big fish. Check out “Idaho ice fishing reports” group on Facebook. Fish caught 11/18/18 on 7” of ice.

Don’t forget the Black Friday sales. Most vendors have great deals that day.

Any word on what’s coming out new for 2019? I looked around but haven’t really found much. I was thinking about getting the Marcum LX9 but I don’t want to jump the gun if there is new stuff coming out. Let me know! Thanks!

I have a LX9 with open water transducer if you are interested. Purchased 1 1/2 years ago. See IDO link:
MARCUM LX9 WITH HIGH SPEED TRANSDUCER $900

Thinking about a LX6 since I have only used the camera a couple of times.

If you have a older one, you might want to look at: Pronavmarine

    to upgrade your controller.

As soon as the new ice bundle comes out, I am in! Thinking we may see a new echo map to go with it.

What is the beam width of livescope? The old panoptix’s was 100 deg X 20 deg. I have not seen what livescope is from the spec. docs.

Make sure you look close at the specs between the Garmin UHD and the Bird Mega.

125′ to each side Ultra High-Definition SideVü, 250′ total, at a maximum
    depth of 30′

Bird Helix Mega SI: RMS Watts 1000
MEGA Down Imaging, MEGA 1.2 MHz (1.125-1.300 MHz), 125 ft (MEGA & 800 kHz)

For those that don’t know who James Holst is, he is Pat Mcsharry’s understudy.

You can sign up for overtons email deals and they offer 20% off regularly. But remember Overton is owned by camping world and if you voted for trump, they don’t want your business.

Sign up for overton deals, they have been offering 15-20% off any one item and then do the $200 rebate, take panoptix’s down even cheaper.

2017 Striker predator Bibs and Jacket for $125 each from Gander. Best deal for me on the year.

Don’t know, but the Rebate includes the PS-22 which is a newer model.

That is why I was wondering if Gen 2 is around the corner. If so, I will be in!

Well what I am hoping for is echomap 73SV UHD bundle. Will add ice bag and panoptix. This would make for a good all around unit. To make it great, it needs to be able to control and electric trolling motor(like I-Link) and work with a controller for a regular kicker(trollmaster/panther). I will keep dreaming but if the bundle comes out, I am in!

Been looking at this hard, Overtons had a 30% off sale which made it more appealing. Think about building my own. I want the 73SV and will add the PS-22 and ice bag to it. Does anyone use the ice ducer when you have panoptixs? From what I have read you still have a 20 deg front and back with panoptixs and then you have the reaching out left to right. I fish a lot of shallow water and that will be a great addition over the 20 deg cone of my LX9.

The main thing stopping me from getting one of these is that since Garmin settle their lawsuit with Lowrance, we should see a new unit coming out that will have better down Vu on the SV units. As far as bottom hugging fish, I have seen some down VU and forward Vu videos of walleyes and you can tell the difference. Going to sell my LX9 and move to the Garmin, just don’t know when.

Got my order cancellation notice. “our supplier has informed us that the Engel® ENGLBC13-N – 13 qts. Live Bait Dry Box/Cooler is incorrect price”.

Too bad, but it was worth a try!

I have the lx-9 and I am very happy with it since the last upgrade. When it comes to the camera upgrade, here is the question you need to ask yourself, do you set in a shack or move very rarely or do you move around a lot? If you move around even avg, purchase a separate camera. If you are not as mobile, do the upgrade. The LX-9 is bulky with the camera on it and you will need to drill a separate hole a few feet away if you want to fish it while using the flasher/graph because the cord and the camera will show up on the LX-9.
