    Nice fish.

Spinners on the gravel is one my favorite methods of fishing.

I am interested, have a boat but am unsure what equipment is needed to chase these fish as I never have before. I am sure others are in the same boat as me (ha ha….get it?). I fish lead core and use planer boards rods for walleye so I do have a clue somewhat.

    So, what is needed?

I would think you will have a modle number at minimum on your winch. With that you may be able to find the manufacturer who could offer a replacement kit that includes your spring and other parts.

I put a new winch on my trailer this spring as I was missing teeth on the large gear. Thought I could just buy a new gear. Nope, had to buy a new winch. Anyway, I notices the repair kits that included the spring, small gear and other parts.

You guys did better then I did all I could manage was a few short walleyes and sheephead.

I think trolling speed made a big difference for us on that day. I was passing other boats who didn’t seem to be catching much.

We are leaving town early on the 12th and spending 4 nights. I can’t wait. I am even considering a run to URL.

    X2

We put about 15 walleye in the boat fishing a flat in about 10-11 feet of water.

So, who was the IDO member fishing out of Hok-Si-La(sp?)this morning? I noticed the IDO decals on the topper.

Is it predicted to go up due to predicted rain in the forecast?

Sounds like you are out on the main lake reefs. I would be looking in the bays and sight fishing with small plastics.

Your post only mentioned planer board fishing. I have been using the Cabelas 9′ DepthMaster board rod and have been totally happy with them. Look for my posts in the Mille Lacs forum. These rods are dedicated to board fishing.

I do have a set of 10’6″ Eyecons that are dedicated to flat lines and for 3-ways in a pinch if fishing multi-people in the boat.

My point is that the DepthMaster’s are an economical choice if only fishing boards. The Eyecon’s/Shimano might be a better choice if multi-tasking.

Great info. Thanks, James! I was just about to ask, ‘So what is the ‘right’ temp for the bite to turn on. And you just answered my question.

Joel and I will be back in the boat checking in on this bite later this week. I’m thinking Thursday will be the day. We will of course have a report back following that trip.

I will be anxiously waiting to hear how you do. I have had this coming Saturday on my calendar for a few weeks now anticipating this trolling bite to start.

I run into this from time to time with my Lowrance. So, how do you prevent it fom happening?

No, the apron is sinking next to the foundation.

50% of retail price depending on it’s age as a starting point.

Look on Craigslist and Ebay for the market price of a used unit.

That would do the opposite of a dehumidifier.

    This was my first thought.

Hopefully better than your seat and console.

Seriously though, I am anxious for your review. I have the same feelings about my RAM mount.

Are you looking to repack the or simply hit the grease zerk?

Maybe a picture of what your working with would help.

Where were you that you found snow this weekend? I had a heavy coating of frost Saturday morning.

Are we really talking about strategies for ensuring we can take multiple limits of fish? The first thing i taught both my children is to only take what we can use. The messaging here sounds outdated and selfish. I imagine the guy from cove bay taking his 14 mo old to grab 12 eyes is the loudest complainer about the nets on mille lacs wrecking the fishery. We need to think sometimes before we say or write things.

And Milly has a 4 fish limit so he would need 2 kids in car seats to get 12.

    DT

I believe it’s a 2 fish limit per person on Milly.

    Just saying

    That is awesome.

Keep them dialed in. We’ll be up late in the day Friday.
