    Randy,
I will be off that weekend and up in Door County fishing again that weekend, hopefully timing it better for walleyes up there. Have you been fishing up there this year? If so PM me with details.

I agree that catch and release for these tournaments is better for the system but the only problem is that even pulling a smallie off the bed for a minute or two will do damage on most nests. Next time you walk the docks in the harbors with smallie nests. On a calm sunny day you can see all the gobies just waiting around the nest. It doesn’t take long for the nest to get wiped out.

We have 27,000 packages of the Doorbuster jigs for Saturday of many sizes and colors, most are 6-10 per pack depending on size of the jig. Dirt cheap.

I always release browns and for the most part the rainbows. I have enough king salmon in the freezer to last the winter. The browns spend way to my time in the harbor to be kept in my opinion.

The lake we were fishing was at least a couple feet low. It was the same deal last summer.

I think there will be some safe ice this weekend but there are some areas that you really have to be careful around. With all the snow it is becoming very slushy and the old holes are not freezing over. I stepped in a few yesterday. Anywhere with deeper drifts of snow near dock I would be careful around. Also any areas around current, walls, aerators, etc the ice is not consistant.

Interesting design, might have to give one a try. We have already been getting requests at out store. Seems a little pricey for this reel but time will tell.

Can’t wait to see the new Endura line from Lowrance. They have been due for some new handhelds. Nothing wrong with the H2O’s but they have been running these units for about 4-5 years now. Thanks for the info James! It will help with the confused customers I will be dealing with the next few months!

I also heard they are no longer in business. To bad I have had very good luck with their motors.

Sounds like a great program. Anything to protect those big gators is a good thing!

I have two stone legacy bags, and love them too, however, how are you going to fit a 30″ 32″ or 36″ …or a 42″ ice rod in them?

I can fit my 36″ rods in my revolution.

Got if fixed! I found a new switch down the road at a local power equipment shop and installed the new switch and it started up right away. Love it! Replacing the old switch wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, just had to remove the gas tank and then pull up the engine cap and then I had the access I needed. Thanks for the help guys! Any pointers for painting the auger???

I tried what you said and I don’t get a spark, bad switch? or could it be the plug is bad? If it is the switch, any pointers for changing the switch.

It is about time! I have always wanted more Marcum apparel. Managed to get a free hat a few years back from Marcum but I am due for a new one!

I put the boat away way to early this fall, what was I thinking? I have been struggling from shore the last few weeks and I have heard good reports about guys out in the boats. Go figure!

Nice report Z-man! I knew there were a few smallies in the Milwaukee harbor but I never realized there was a fishable population. Any pointers? That is a huge brown bass!

We have only had a few show up at our Cabelas in Richfield, they sold right away. I heard from a St. Croix ProStaff that it could be April before alot of places get them.

I have all Shimano trolling rods but I work at Cabelas and I can tell you we sell a boat load of those rods and the combos with the DM line counter reels. The combos are $49.99 now for our Great Outdoor Days sale which is a killer deal for a trolling combo.

There is some decent ice in some of the areas, bad to no ice in other areas. Fishing has been pretty steady for me this winter. Lot of other guys I have talked to it has been up and down for them. I started trolling open water last year in April.
