Wiring 80lb Terrova

Crazy question but I am replacing my old 50 lb Minnekota trolling motor with a new 80lb Terrova. I had a three prong bow mounted plug in for the old Minnekota..the question I have is can I just use the same three prong plug and wire it to the new 80lb motor? The new one does not come with a plug, just the red and black wire. I am already banking up a couple batteries for the 24 volt situation and may have to upgrade the fuse to a 60 amp. Thanks for the insight.

Might need a new plug/receptacle. Usually the older plugs are not made for the higher current draw you will get when the motor is on high for extended periods.

While it may work, you run the risk of getting something hot and damaging the plug, wiring, or worse.
