Unfortunately we decided not to fish today. Being we stayed with family, we opted to spend time with them instead. Don’t think I wasn’t thinking about it though. I was sure it was going to be one of those “You should’ve been here” moments.

Looks to be spawned out, eh Mojo?

April 11, 2017 at 7:16 pm #1687841I spoke with a few shore anglers on the Oconto River Saturday while fishing. The group I spoke with were REALLY surprised to hear of all the post spawn fish being caught in the bay. They hadn’t seen a fish caught in days and were adamant the run was days away. Seemed most were dumping eggs in the bay.
April 12, 2017 at 3:26 pm #1688001I fished there on Monday. We caught 9 walleyes. One prespawn and one post spawn female. Biggest was 28. The rest looked to be low 20’s males. I heard from locals that there were a lot of fish in the river Sunday night. One guy said it was like aliens in the water. all he could see was eyes glowing everywhere. This was up in town and just what I heard. Did not see it myself but there were a lot of fish in the river also.
