Back from a weekend over in Oconto fishing Green Bay with Mike W and Joel E. Tuff bite but we ground out a few bites. Mostly pitching rippin raps, jigs/plastics and stick baits. Water temps in the upper 30’s just hitting 40 in some of the shallow shoreline areas. Lucked into this one on a rippin rap in about 13 foot of water. Personal best at 31 inches. Love the town and all the locals we ran into. Got to get out there more often!

    Great fish!

What was the going consensus? Fish not moving up yet? We head out Thursday for the weekend and looking for some encouragement. Most reports say slow followed by a picture of a PB.

    Congrats on a giant!

Nice…your PB? Were you fishing the river, or out in the bay?
Love the town and the locals? I would certainly believe. Always great folks over there…east. As long as you weren’t strutting in a Randy Moss jersey! jester
I would hope if you had the time, to swing down and visit Lambeau field and the Packer Hall of Fame and museum and such? wink

We were over there Saturday. Lots of trucks and trailers at the ramp. The wait time to put in and load up wasn’t bad. There is plenty of room for everyone to fish. Your timing should be good. I think James nailed the conditions on the intro of this weeks episode. https://youtu.be/cHtjPjpYgi4

    Nice fish!

I caught a 24.5″ over there Saturday. The fish sure have a nice build to them over there.

Seriously, every person we met and talked to, every bar and restaurant we stopped at we were treated very nicely. Can’t beat all those mom and pop diners for great food! Not to mention you can get your beer on a Sunday at the gas station! toast

I’ve got a group heading over that way next weekend. Trying to decide between Fox, Oconto, Peshtigo, or Menominee. Anyone have any more insight on which one may do better this coming weekend, 4/7-4/10? We have all the gear for any style of fishing needed. Anyone around this week? Other than those clowns Gillespe or Larry Smith whom I hear are around the Pesh this week.

We were going to head to Rainy but the choc milk river has us heading east instead.

Thank you in advance and I’ll def leave a report when we return.

How did you guys do today?

    We didn’t do very good.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. We marked fish, but couldn’t get them to bite.

Same here. Did boat a 28″, what looked to be a postspawn female. Got her in 5′ of water. Caught lots of pike and only 3 walleye. Can’t upload photos from the phone for some reason, but pretty sure it was a female.

Trying again today. Weather has been gorgeous!

    Will do.

We only caught 3 walleye this morning, but they were 28, 29, and 30″. Unreal!

Hopefully things pick up towards dark. Caught a few small males earlier, and then pike and suckers after noon. Things were slowwwwwww.

    Congrats on the jumbos!

For any one else wondering, water temps were about 43 in the bay and about 49 in the river.

I watched for your boat today, but didn’t see you. We will be out for a few hours tomorrow morning before we head home. Hope you found some today.

    Nice fish!
