This Labor Day weekend I’m taking my wife and two young kids camping at Fish Lake campground just south of Prior Lake, MN for the first time and bringing the boat. I want to take my young son out for some panfish and I will be finding some time on my own in the early mornings for some bass. Anybody fish this lake and have any tips for catching either?

    Hello,

I fish and camp at that lake quite a bit. Both the pannies and bass can be found near the weeds. The north east corner of the lake is good for pannies in 6-8 feet of water, simple bobber set up with a chunk of crawler or crappie minnow will catch pannies all day on that lake and a very respectable average size to the gills and big crappies can be caught. The mid lake hump is loaded with nice bass in 13 ft of water.

    Take care!
