Sure they were money shots or just poop? I know just about everyone I’ve ever caught empty their bowels as soon as I get them out of the water.. I didn’t notice the last one I pulled up a few weeks ago left a huge batch on the front of the kayak… Then when driving home it fell and plopped on the windshield o.O

Very nice flathead! From what I am seeing on the web now, things are really heating up and so far, no battle wounds, so we should have a pretty normal June I think. Now is the time to get those big girls.

We caught a couple males on Pool 3 that we must have interrupted during foreplay. One really had big knobs on his head. I never payed attention to what they felt like before, but those things are really soft.

Michelle (not Obama) still brags to everyone about her first flathead and that had to be a good 5+ years ago. You’ll never forget that one. I still remember my first one and he was only about 1#.

I’m always down to fish!! that carp was a monster. I think I have video of the battle and all you hear is “OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH (repeat, repeat)” I lost my password/username a few months ago so I just need to play catch-up

I dont think so. I will see if he has any other pics though.

He guessed it at 50-55lbs. For reference he is 6′ tall.

FINALLY! After not getting out for almost a month, we hit a mess of small channels and this nice 14 lb flat last night.

Hopefully not the last one this summer! I’m hoping to destroy my PB of 17 lbs in August when we hit Evert’s.

We had a couple other runs too. The bugs were so bad that we actually sat in the tent to avoid them. Screaming clicker run, plus trying to scramble out of a tent to get it equals missed run

Note to self, bring the Thermacell next time.

I know these are relative babies, but it was my first attempt at flatheads and I was excited that I could put 3 fish in the boat.
Also, I want to say thanks to all on IDO for sharing your hints. Everything from what bait to use (bull heads), how to keep them alive (going on 3 weeks now) and where to fish (P2).

Personally, I am never disappointed in even catching a small flathead. They are such a cool fish, that I can appreciate even the littlest of those buggers.
