Is this in Minnesota? I would have thought the problem would have been with passive-aggressive robins.

Thank you and good night ladies and gentlemen. I’ll be here all week.

with Keefe fired, who’s the next coach to jump into the fire in Toronto?

I hear Mike Yeo is currently entertaining offers.

    What’s a VST?

It’s a vapor separation tank. Mercury, I believe, actually uses a different system the call a fuel supplier module or something like that.

We’re getting out in the weeds pretty far here from what the average guy can diagnose and repair without risking replacing a lot of parts unnecessarily. Check the basics and try to determine is this a fuel or spark issue.

I think issues with old gas are blown out of proportion more often than not. Use non-oxy, run machines once in a great while, and you aren’t going to have issues.

I think the same about most supposed gas issues.

I agree, blaming everything on ethanol and gas it become the get out of jail free card for the mechanic that can’t find the real problem.

Very rarely does the same real diagnosed fuel problem come back a second time in rapid succession. If you’ve got a plugged carb and you clean it, it generally does get plugged again anytime soon for example.

I still suspect this problem is electrical.

I am going to pull the cover today and check connections and gas line as suggested.

Look for any possibility of air leaks that is allowing air into the fuel lines. Your symptoms give me the impression that somehow you are losing fuel pressure between the tank and the engine somewhere due to an air leak.

It would be nice to know in the situations where the motor does not start if you pull a spark plug, is it wet from fuel? That is the next step I would pursue is seeing if the engine is getting fuel and somehow you have an electrical issue that is cutting off the spark.

Kudos to Vancouver, with those 2 quick goals I went to bed thinking it was going to be an Oilers route!

There’s no such thing as an Oilers route when you suck as bad as they do on defense. They are the ultimate One Way hockey team.

Skinner was victimized again and again and again from down by the goal line. Vancouver clearly has the scouting on this clown. He can be easily beaten down low, he leaves a huge gap by the goal post every time.

Okay so here are my 2 leading suspects.

    1. Per Hilhiker’s comment, yes I’m wondering about the flywheel key. I’ve seen situations where the flywheel key was just bent and not broken. It puts the engine out of time and makes it very difficult to start.

    2. Because Alex mentions a bagger I’m wondering if there might be some kind of safety switch issue? Is there any safety switch that reads if the bagger is properly installed? Might that switch not be getting closed or be otherwise malfunctioning?

This problem strikes me as being an electrical issue or at least that’s the first way I pursue it.

$120 sounds a little steep though, unless it’s a pretty big/complicated yard to mow.

That’s called “sending a message” pricing. Richard would have been better off sticking to the original $30 a week deal, wouldn’t he? But no, he wanted to call the shots.

The message: Don’t be a Richard.

Most service businesses have PITA pricing for special clients.

Haha. Even Suter scored too. His classic wrister from the point made it through a maze of bodies in front for the first goal.

Classic Ryan Suter Twisted Wrister artistry. Don’t even try to tell me you don’t miss it. He’ll do it again, too. Just give him another 20 games and it’ll happen.

Here’s a couple of things I have noticed as it relates to new power equipment that finds its way to me for repairs.

A lot of new summer use power equipment like mowers is jetted from the factory to be incredibly lean. This is to meet emissions requirements in places like Commiefornia. The problem with this super lean jetting is that as the weather gets cooler the equipment becomes incredibly hard to start, if not impossible. Some engines have the option of changing the jetting. Many engines like lawn mowers these days do not.

I’m having a tough time believing that contaminated fuel was really the issue both times.

Question for you. Did the mower ever hit anything that caused it to stall? Even if it was just a stick or a branch or a big wad of leaves did it ever suddenly stop?

Regarding what fuel to use I think this is a big red herring. You can use any gasoline from any pump as long as you use it up promptly. In my opinion you should quit using a five gallon can and start buying one or two gallons at a time. Seldom if ever will you have a problem with any gasoline if you’re using it up in the span of 1 to 2 months.

Personally I use non ox and I never ever have a problem. But I only buy enough gas to last me 1 to 2 months. Whatever is left over just gets dumped in one of the vehicles.

I like the fact that there’s size available with both the D men and the forwards in Joe’s list. We need beef, we have enough lightweights at both positions.

With the likely offensive players available, are any of these guys really NHL ready now? Or are we in that old Minnesota standby of “wait a few years”? Frankly, IMO we only benefit from more offense if it’s the now kind of offense.

As much as I want to load up on offensive firepower, I have to say I think it’s time to think about D-core and what life looks like after the Spurgeon/Brodin era. I’m concerned that with either or both of these players, we’re 1 injury away from these guys being in the category of “not what they used to be”. Boy do I like that Yakemchuk kid, even if he could be a 10 goal guy in the NHL with his size and physicality, he’s a difference maker.

Also, one thing that doesn’t get talked about with d-men is if they have a heavy shot for the PP. The X factor in this is under-rated, in my opinion. Yes, they can score, but the other factor is that the PK can step up and block, but they know there’s a price to pay. Having a guy that can blast pieces off of opposing players opens up lanes and creates things that just don’t happen with this “long wrister from the point” stuff.

Just asked the guy down the street who has an Ego mower. He said he hast the “biggest battery they offered” when he got it 2 years ago. His yard takes 40-50 minutes to mow according to him. He said he has never run the battery dead. I will add that he has a nice lawn and doesn’t wait until the grass gets very long before he mows. I’m sure the performance would vary depending on grass height.

Last fall I was on a tree and brush cleanup mission with a charity group. I pulled out my Milwaukee pole saw with a 6 amp hour battery and some loud mouth mentioned that he’d never be able to make do with those electric tools because the batteries die so quick. 4 hours later I was still cutting limbs while he was complaining about how tired he was loading them on the trailer. I hadn’t even switched batteries yet.

I have a 6 amp hour battery and 2x 4 amp hour batteries. With those three batteries and a charger I can cut continuously and never have to wait for a fresh battery.

Again for the homeowner user it looks to me like the days of electric tools being some kind of compromise and lacking in performance are over. Just as with gasoline power equipment you have to size the equipment and the batteries correctly for your level of use.

Game 3 on Friday in Minne. Be there and bring…bring your heating pad.

As is typical for Minnesota, we WON’T be trolling the hell out of Denver for this. It would be a crime against product placement for Icy Hot not to offer 10000 “Pain relief without the pad” t-shirts for Friday but even if they did the wolves wouldn’t allow it.

Two questions come to mind, (a) Wonder how many gallons of water is typically used when hydro -drilling? (b) How to accomplish this if one does not already have a pressurized water source on site?

I’ll let you know for sure when I drill in June.

I already own a gas powered pump which I will couple to a IBC tote with 300 gallons of water drawn from my creek 1/4 mile away, filtered and chlorinated. I also have 5x 55 gallon drums on standby.

Custom rifles you can expect to get about 60% of the value you put in it.

I would agree, but it’s important to note that IMO 60% is a RETAIL figure. As in what you might expect if you were selling the gun yourself or trading directly with another party.

If by trading, you mean trading it to a retail gun shop, your lucky to get 30-40%.

I agree , 270 is an odd chambering for that style of rifle and that will impact value. IMO, you would be doing very well at $1000.

Check out this site that details a cheap DIY method of shallow well drilling called hydrodrilling.

    drillyourownwell.com

This is basically an easier way of drilling a deep sandpoint well without killing yourself with a sledgehammer. I will be drilling my own well this summer on my hunting property.

The best strategy with battery powered devices (Mowers, Blowers, Trimmers, etc) is to transition ALL of your yard tools to utilize the one battery design…I did that with Echo 56volt products a year ago (Chainsaw, Trimmer, Blower, hedge trimmer) its so nice to just deal with 1 battery that runs them all (I haven’t upgraded my Toro mower yet because it runs like a champ)

    This^^^^.

Electric is here to stay because for the average homeowner type user, it everything they need with none of the noise or maintenance hassles of gasoline power.

I’m switching over to Milwaukee for home use. So far I have a pole saw, hedge trimmer, blower, and soon a string trimmer. Quiet, no stink, no maintenance. Pull the trigger and go.

No AM34 for the Leafs tonight…

Undefeated without him…. Think it’s secretly a healthy scratch so they don’t embarrass him and hurt his feelings?

This would be a ridiculous assertion were it not for the simple fact that we’re talking about the Leafs here. So it can’t be ruled out, that’s for sure.

The team is severely lacking high end forwards yet they need to ship out this young, potential high end forward because there’s no room for him? Makes no sense

    That sums it up perfectly.

Also the argument seems to be we need to get rid of a 20+ goal / 40+ point guy so we can bring in a 20+ goal 40+ point guy…

If I had to pick one forward who is most likely to score 10 more goals next season than the did this past season, Rossi is my guy. He had an incredible number of near misses this season.

I’m sure GMBG and staff have whiteboarded the hell out of what this team could project to be 2-4 years out and they aren’t willing to put Rossi’s name down in Sharpie…

There’s another name that isn’t written in sharpie when projecting who is on the Wild team in 2-4 years–Billy Gee’s. Blaming everything on the buyouts and pointing at the prospect pool rankings is only going to work for so long when you’re missing the playoffs.

If you ordered this online the only suggestion I have is to go back through your emails and see if the order confirmation or invoice has a description that lists the pitch and diameter of the prop.

I don’t recognize that number sequence so Cabela’s must have had a custom identification sequence from whatever manufacturer they used for those props.

Looks like the Oilers dispatched the Kings in 5 last night.

As I predicted, playoff maestro Kevin Fiala once again put the gear selector in Playoff Beast Mode and… wait for it…almost completely disappeared. 1G and 1A in 5 games. He should be on the Leafs with playoff numbers like that. Billy Gee Wiz was right about that guy, great player to be rid of.

I can’t believe this crapola about dealing Rossi. This would be completely mental. A chronically center-deficient Wild should trade a young centerman who put in the work effort to go from nothing to being a 21G and 40 points guy over 82 games and we should TRADE him? Freaking retarded. He goes from nothing to 40 points in one season and the thinking is he has no upside potential? Pure genius.

Icecap is exactly right, Rossi would be kicking the Wild’s ass and laughing about it for the rest of his career.

Ok, so I went to turn on the Twins over my lunch break quick and a message says “Bally Sports is no longer available “

    Anyone else running into this???

Xfinity subscribers (myself included) received this email today:

    ________________
Unfortunately, our programming agreement with Diamond Sports Group has expired. This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network.

The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see a monthly credit on your bill in the coming weeks. You don’t need to do anything to receive your credit; we’ll automatically apply it to your upcoming monthly bill statement.

We know that unexpected changes to your channel lineup can be frustrating. We’ve been flexible with Diamond Sports Group, who is in bankruptcy proceedings, but have been unable to reach an agreement that’s fair for our customers.
    ____________

I suspect the slow motion train wreck that IS the Bally RSN is about to reach it’s final implosion.

All I can say is that there must be something really wrong with the business model of these RSNs. All over the country, they have a monopoly on TV sports, but yet they can’t keep from going bankrupt.

It’s no surprise to me that there is a majority behind banning Livescope/FFS. That number will be 60% favoring a ban within another year, I’d bet.

I also think that the survey results show the myth behind angler attitudes toward bag limits. That myth being that anglers are in it to catch and keep fish and that reducing bag limits is unpopular. The fact is that rarely do I encounter any angler who thinks the current bag limits are too restrictive, it’s almost 100% the opposite. Then only ones who are against smaller bag limits are the ones already filling their freezers in blatant violation of possession limits and they don’t generally care one way or the other because they aren’t going to abide by limits no matter what.

This is definitely NOT like the Vietnam protests of the 60s and 70s. None of these protesters is going to get drafted and sent to Gaza to fight and die and none of them have friends doing the same.

The Israeli/Palestinian conflict can’t be solved and it certainly cannot be solved by simply throwing support behind the other side. In a thousand years they will still be fighting over this piece of desert, just like they have for the previous thousand years.

How about the first minute of the Vegas/Dallas game last night!!!!

That’s what I like to see. Team In A Box and the Texass Team Rustlers beating the hell out of each other in a playoff death match. Here’s hoping it goes 7 games. The only thing wrong with these big hits is that Suter wasn’t on the receiving end of any.

8 years of that team with 1 playoff series win. The playoff drama surrounding this Leafs team is grade A entertainment. It’s like the last 10+ years of the Wild but times a billion.

It’s the hysterical ranting, crying, and eventual near-total loss of bodily functions of the Leaf’s fans–because in Toronto, EVERY year is supposed to be THE year–that makes watching the annual playoff implosion so entertaining. They are the ultimate in entitlement.

As any (and every!) Leafs fan will tell you, they’ve won 13 Stanley Cups. But the way they talk about it, it’s as if they think they’ve won the last 13 in a row. I wonder how many Leafs fans even realize the last cup win was 33 years before the turn of the century?

AS a note on firearms insurance, many hunting and gun owner organizations offer insurance as part of the membership benefits. The same organizations often will extend coverage to higher limits for a fee.

I found my Safari Club International membership had a basic level of insurance, which is nice, but for a very modest fee I could increase the coverage significantly. From online reviews, it appears the insurer gets good marks for paying out in the event of theft and fire, which is what I’m sure most of us are concerned about.

My firearm insurance policy is a gunsafe. But it only works when its used, and locked.

This strikes me as putting all your eggs in one basket. Yes, let’s stipulate first that any safe is better than no safe. However…

These safe manufacturers make some pretty “interesting” claims about fire resistance and most of them avoid any specifics about WHAT specifically in the safe would survive at the stated temps and in what condition would it be in after such exposure.

Also, as anybody who has had a house fire will tell you, the water damage can be as bad or worse than the fire damage. And safe makers tend to say little or nothing about water damage.

The bottom line is a gun safe is good, but I wouldn’t trust it as the only protection. Safe + Full Insurance = Much Better.
