My uncle owned that camp as well as Woman River Camp for something like 15 years, many memories and big fish stories. Shoot me a pm and I will give you more details on locations to fish.

Thanks for the advice, and yep the $$$ they charge is ridiculous. There are a couple trout streams that run past the parents house that of course dump into the mississippi. I have trout fished it many times but have never noticed any shiners. I am from missouri and I remember growing up as a kid my buddies and I would go down and mess in the creeks and shiners would be schooled up everywhere. I dont see that in the trout streams I fish now. Should I go closer to where the mighty miss and the creek come together, where its deeper or what. I have no clue

Well I went with the clam summit thermal and used it yesterday for the first time, wow what an extreme difference from what im used to fishing. It has tons of room especially for two people and is easy to set up and take down. Although I more than likely will purchase a two man flip over in the future, this clam was hard to turn down for $275 brand spanking new Thanks to the both of you for the advice

Yep turtle hunting, 4ft hooks walking up stream in creeks hooking prehistoric animals…its a blast. Also small sloughs with stagnant water + large catfish hooks and liver = LARGE turtles.

PM me if you want more information

Anyone looking for a partner for this tourney? I am patiently waiting for a job opportunity to make its appearance but in the meantime figured i would try and fish some of these local tournaments that seem so interesting! Please PM me if interested

Isnt that crazy, my dad and I caught a very nice walleye just a couple days ago on lake pepin that had the same issues. From my understanding, it is mostly seen in fish that are severely affected by some type of parasite that causes what we call scoliosis. I believe the fish usually live but would assume if the parasite stresses the fish out to the max it may not make it. Just my thoughts, could be wrong.

I was also lowering the anchor rope last year during the walleye run when a stinken blade bait got caught and went completely through the hand. Thank God it didnt hit bone, not to mention it was cold enough it had trouble swelling. i now have about 4 nice scars going through my hand showing my fishing battle wounds.
