Got it fixed. Called Lowrance. Hope this helps someone sometime. When downloading way-points you have to use ( user data file version 2 no depth ) Then they will work on nav hot maps. Also found out the flywheel no longer works on the map to zoom in and out but it does work on the pallets screen .

I don’t know . Maybe I downloaded the way points wrong or something . Could not find the proper way to download or export way points yet . They give you 4 choices to export and I’m not sure which one it right.

I used a blank card and then downloaded them to the laptop to navionics hotmaps program . That is where the out of memory came up.

I don’t want to hijack the thread . Just another question ? I have an 8 and 5 hds.with side scan Went to download some waypoints to navionics hotmaps explorer and a popup came up and said hotmaps explorer out of memory . What can I do about this and how. Has anyone else tried this ? What is the best way to export waypoints. Maybe I did something wrong . I have downloaded lots of waypoints before with no problem. I never had a problem up loading them or downloading them before this new update 4.–The import worked great. Just not sure about the export.

If you are going to use the sonor viewer after you open the chart under file go to sonar chart click on it and go down to sonar color mode then to scanning brown. This seems to work best for my unit and the way it is set. To see all 3 windows click on windows and then Tile Horizonal.

Well I went back out and played with it and found out how to do it . Works really good. Easy way to jump from screen to screen .

I have an 8 AND 5 . I use the 8 for side scan and the 5 for mapping. Both on dash . where did you find out how to program in your 6 favorite screens. Could not find it in the manuel. Is there a video on you tube on the new update 4 and it’s short cuts . I got the pdf file and no short cuts there eather. ( like the flywheel only works on the mapping page ) to zoom in and out

Use the pages and goto waypoints. routes. and trails . High lite the trails and start a new trail . To delete it push menu and use that drop down .Hope that helps

Thanks for the fast replies . Now I can stop looking for them. I suppose I could change the symbols and use way-points then go back and delete them. That would make them easy to recognize. Jim

I just got the HDS5 and think it is a great unit . Still learning it . The one thing I can not find is how to use icons or does the unit have them . Waypoints work fine . I just want to use icons instead of waypoints sometimes . Is the icons only used with the POI ( point of interest )?

I had the same problem with my 332c so I installed a disconnect switch and that solved the problem .You have to shut down the power to the puck and unit . Mine was coming on going down the road and it showed over 12000 miles on the odometer . Unit finally bombed and Lowrance no longer rebuilds 332c so I upgraded to the HDS5 great unit . For small problems on the 332c you might try a soft boot .( Push the power and page buttons at the same time and hold until the map comes up . This will not delete waypoints . If you do a hard boot it will delete everything . To do that push the in and out buttons and the power button at the same time and hold until the map comes up . You will lose everything with a hard boot . Still learning the HDS5 but so far I like it . Anyone out there have an HDS5 if so will the unit do just icons instead of waypoints ?

My chip does not have a lock on it . It did not evan have the name on it. It was or is just a 16 md chip . I had to label it to identify it . Still works great so don’t think I will take a chance . Thank You.

Just one more thing . If you can grab a handfull of the bedding and squeese it and water comes out it is too wet. To keep them cool put ice in a sandwich bag and put it in with them.

What would be the effect if the motor was set to low ? I have a Alumacraft tournament pro 170 with a 90 hp suzuki 4 stroke . Top gps speed is about 34.3 light boat. MT live wells and just me. RPMs 5500 . When I trim it to get on plane all I have to do is just raise the motor very little off of the stop at bottom. Any ideas or is this about right. Not complaining it just don’t seem right to me.

Eric the whites are starting on the vile. I was out tues and got 21 with two just a little over 16. They are fun. Also got 5 crappies with the smallest 11 1/2 and biggest just over 13. Also got 3 cats around 1 1/2 lbs. Not a bad day for the vile.

Moe things here are slow. Water down to 51.5 deg. still getting a few nice whites and that is all. I’m going to try and get up to Clear Lake Sat am. Hope the water has warmed up some by then.As for the classic no I’m not in it. and for Rathbun yes we were down there Sat and the water is 51 to 52.5 so everything was deep. Had wind up to 30 mph and got blew off the lake around 2:30 with only 3 very nice whites and that was all. Hope to get back down there the 14th . Might even try and go in the middle of the week around the 11th. Hard to say now. Would like a report first. Are you staying with Terry (walleyetracker) at Rathbun ??? If so you will be in the cabin next to us.
